Turambar 04-13-2002 05:12 PM

Cirion, in his oath of friendship, refers to Eru (in Quenya).

Voronwe 04-14-2002 06:03 AM

Quite correct.

Turambar 04-14-2002 08:02 AM

Whose (heraldric) sign was a sable mole ? http://www.plauder-smilies.de/pyth.gif

Mat_Heathertoes 04-14-2002 04:28 PM

Why, that would be coat of arms of Meglin/Maeglin of Gondolin

Turambar 04-14-2002 06:54 PM

Correct, Mat.

Mat_Heathertoes 04-15-2002 03:53 AM

what is/was the Burning Briar and what is it called in Quenya ?

twinkle 04-16-2002 02:13 PM

"Many names have these [the Seven Stars] been called, but in the old days of the North both Elves and Men called them the Burning Briar, and some the Sickle of the Gods."

Sickle of the Gods or Valacirca

Legolas 06-17-2002 11:56 PM

During what season did Morwen send Túrin off to Thingol?

Mat_Heathertoes 06-19-2002 03:42 PM

Autumn

Legolas 10-03-2002 01:02 PM

Yes, of course.

Legolas 10-08-2002 11:57 AM

Mat hasn't been around in quite sometime. To continue this thread...

Who did Círdan send south under the direction of Ulmo?

Eruhen 10-09-2002 06:36 AM

I want to say Voronwë, but I don't think that's right.

Telchar 10-09-2002 07:02 AM

hmmm - Gelmir and Arminas?

Legolas 10-09-2002 07:52 AM

Yes, Telchar.

Telchar 10-09-2002 09:34 AM

Under what other name do we know Belegor?

zifnab 10-09-2002 10:12 AM

Morgoth?

Telchar 10-09-2002 10:44 AM

Yeah! you go Ziffy

zifnab 10-09-2002 10:51 AM

Whose "Fëanorian lamp" let Turin stare on the face of the slain Beleg?

Eruhen 10-21-2002 09:57 AM

Voronwë.

Lindolirian 11-13-2002 07:59 PM

No, it would be the lamp of Gwindor. Tuor, Turin's cousin saw the lamp of Voronwë.

Legolas 01-02-2003 06:31 PM

Looks like zifnab's out for a while - go ahead Lind!

Lindolirian 05-19-2003 08:39 PM

As I brush away the dust in the back halls of the Quiz Room, I find a thread that is in my control. How silly of me!

Who were the Falmarindi?

Sophia the Thunder Mistress 05-19-2003 09:48 PM

The Falmari are the Sea Elves, those of the Teleri who went to Aman. I will guess, though I'm likely wrong, that Falmarindi is an early form for that same group?

Sophia

Annunfuiniel 05-20-2003 02:31 AM

Falmaríni were the spirits of sea foam that followed Ossë&Ónen(Uinen) to Arda. Is that the answer you are looking for?

~Annun

Lindolirian 05-20-2003 02:35 PM

Sorry for the misspelling. Yes, it was Sophia's answer I was looking for.

Sophia the Thunder Mistress 05-23-2003 07:10 PM

Hm, this may be much too easy, but:

Who was Gandalf's original captor?

Tulkas the Mighty 05-28-2003 09:27 AM

Saruman?

Sophia the Thunder Mistress 05-28-2003 07:00 PM

No Sir.

Samwise Gamgee 05-28-2003 07:45 PM

Morgoth at the dungeons of Dol Guldur?

Samwise Gamgee 05-28-2003 07:45 PM

Actually - I mean sauron - but he is referred to as morgoth, or am I just mixed up (as usual)

GaladrieloftheOlden 05-28-2003 07:48 PM

Sauron and Morgoth are different people

~Menelien

Samwise Gamgee 05-28-2003 07:49 PM

OK, well then my answer is by Sauron in the dungeons of Dol Guldur - FINAL answer
