Evisse the Blue 01-03-2005 01:51 PM

Not him either.
*whsipers* It's a she.

AbercrombieOfRohan 01-03-2005 01:55 PM

Luthien?

Evisse the Blue 01-03-2005 01:59 PM

Nope!

Hookbill the Goomba 01-03-2005 02:18 PM

Arwen?

Evisse the Blue 01-03-2005 03:54 PM

Still no

The Saucepan Man 01-11-2005 11:29 AM

Galadriel, perhaps? She was certainly a long way from the land of her birth, and unable to return until she passed the test of the Ring.

Evisse the Blue 01-11-2005 12:36 PM

Hurray, you've got it!

It's her indeed.

The Saucepan Man 01-11-2005 12:44 PM

Thank you, Evisse. :)

Next up

Just a little pinprick.
There'll be no more ...Aaaaaahhhhh!
But you may feel a little sick.

Evisse the Blue 01-19-2005 07:11 AM

Shelob to Frodo? :p

The Saucepan Man 01-19-2005 07:15 AM

But of course! :D

Your turn to puzzle us Evisse.

Evisse the Blue 01-19-2005 03:52 PM

Thanks. I'll do my best. :)

Sophia the Thunder Mistress 01-20-2005 12:53 AM

Boromir perhaps? He's the most prominent repenter. Although Kill the King doesn't really seem to fit...

Evisse the Blue 01-20-2005 03:30 AM

Nope, not Boromir. This one's even more fallen, and not as prominent a repenter.

alquadae 01-20-2005 04:34 AM

Grima wormtoung ;)

Evisse the Blue 01-20-2005 04:57 AM

Yep! :) Your turn.

Evisse the Blue 02-12-2005 08:27 AM

breathe, thread!

How about:

Quote:

The Apprentice becoming... Master
(Nightwish, Wishmaster)

This could be applied to more than one, so if you explain your answer, you got it! :)

Sophia the Thunder Mistress 02-12-2005 01:02 PM

a guess... or two

Sauron's takeover as ultimate Baddie of ME from his old Master, Melkor?

or perhaps

Telchar the smith, outdoes his former master Gamil-Zirak when he forges the Dragon Helm, Angrist, and Narsil?

Vinyacoriel 02-12-2005 01:47 PM

Maby Frodo? he followed people and tried to learn more about his quest (being an apprentice) then after the taming of Gollum he was 'master'

Evisse the Blue 02-12-2005 02:18 PM

Sauron was my thought too. That and Feanor. Telchar is a good example too.
So, your go, Sophia!

Vinyacoriel, I'm afraid Frodo is a bit ambiguous...you could say he was an apprentice, but not in the true sense of the word, more like we're all apprentices, in that we learn from the wiser ones...

Sophia the Thunder Mistress 02-12-2005 10:51 PM

Any excuse to quote the Who...

Sophia the Thunder Mistress 02-22-2005 07:28 AM

's been a long time

Didn't think this was so very difficult.

Think lovers... think ocean... think spoiled plans.

Hookbill the Goomba 02-22-2005 10:14 AM

Maglor, perhaps?

Relating to Maglor and the silmarill. This may be obscure, but here is my reasoning.

Maglor was in love with the silmarill, as was Feanor, but had to part with it when he threw it into the ocean.

*Is hopeful*

Nuranar 02-22-2005 01:51 PM

Amroth and Nimrodel?

Sophia the Thunder Mistress 02-22-2005 04:56 PM

Sorry Hookbill, but I was going for Amroth and Nimrodel.

Your turn Nuranar. :)

Nuranar 02-26-2005 06:58 PM

This is harder than I thought...

Quote:

Can I run to you?
Are you true to me?
I’ll do unto you
As you do to me!

And we slowly learn
Someone has to burn
Better you than me!

"The Riddle," from The Scarlet Pimpernel

Easy? Ridiculous?

Evisse the Blue 02-27-2005 01:07 AM

A classic guess by now:

Frodo to the Ring?

Nuranar 02-27-2005 08:20 AM

Nope.

Elennar Starfire 02-27-2005 02:12 PM

Frodo to Gollum?

Nuranar 02-27-2005 04:32 PM

No again.

It's not an obvious one. I just hope it isn't too far out there...

Evisse the Blue 02-28-2005 10:16 AM

Erendis to Aldarion?

Nuranar 02-28-2005 03:12 PM

No. Perhaps it's a wee bit more obvious that that one... ;)

Evisse the Blue 03-30-2005 07:49 AM

A hint, please, Nuranar? ;)

Nuranar 03-30-2005 07:55 AM

Yikes, thanks for the nudge.

OK, it took me a while to to remember what it was! Hints: The events referred to happen in the First Age. And think of burning.

Evisse the Blue 03-30-2005 02:50 PM

going with the obvious:

The burning of the ships at Alqualondë with Feanor speaking?

Nuranar 03-30-2005 03:22 PM

No, but keep trying!

Evisse the Blue 08-14-2005 02:01 AM

It's been a while, so here's a new one!

Quote:

Inheriting troubles I'm mentally numb
Crazy, but what do I care
I'm living with something I don't wanna share
Crazy Train, by Ozzy Osbourne

Elennar Starfire 08-14-2005 05:55 PM

Well...the (maybe) obvious answer is Frodo... I'll go with that first.

Evisse the Blue 08-15-2005 12:03 PM

That's the one I had in mind as well. Your turn. :)

Elennar Starfire 08-18-2005 03:08 PM

Ok then...

Quote:

Forgive me, for I don't know what I gain

I weep to have what I fear to lose
This last bit here makes me think particularly of Elrond... is it him?
