a dose of mayhem
Here's some:
However, this brought a fresh round of fury from Līn. "As if this concerned you! Release him!" And not wanting a bloody nose of is own, the dwarf who had restrained Narin let him go. "Have at you!" Līn snarled. But Narin blocked both Līn's punches with his forearms, and then gave a low gutteral roar of his own. Now it was Līn's turn to block punches, and Narin kept him busy with a torrent of close, tight jabs. Līn began to slowly back up. Balin began slowly walking towards the two, and the other dwarves watched him, wondering why he did not order them to stop. His hand began to come up, and he opened his mouth to speak. Līn sidestepped and shifted his weight, and came around with a left hook to Narin's jaw. Those watching heard a thud, and Narin swayed a little. But Līn also stepped back, a blank expression on his face. Balin smiled. Narin recovered, and the rain of jabs began again. Līn tried another hook, but Narin was ready, and blocked it. He sidestepped; Līn punched hard, and missed, losing his balance; Narin pressed his advantage, and three successive jabs connected. Līn stepped back. He was on the defensive now, and Narin knew it. |
Just to make it a little more fun
Balin
A babble of half formed insults as well as daring challenges assaulted Balins ear and he realized, with an amused grin, that there was a quarrel with Līn and Narin that had rapidly turned into a grand fist fight. The other dwarves had formed an arena around the two and were cheering lustily for their favourite. For a moment he did nothing but watch, wondering what all the fuss was about. He was pleased that the dwarven lass was holding her own so well and he would have liked to see if she would win in the end. But no matter what his desires were, it was his duty to keep peace between the dwarves. Walking slowly towards them, he smiled when she landed a handsome hook upon Narins jaw and watched with hidden pleasure as the blows rained down upon the two unfortunate dwarves. No, Līs, go for the stomach! Hit him soundly in the gut! . He cringed when Līn drove a punch with all her might and missed; it sent her reeling forward, and Nali pressed his advantage to the utmost. Almost unwilling, he pressed his way within the circle and stepped up to the two combatants, waiting for the opportune moment to stop the fight. A punch that landed solidly on Līn s jaw spun her half way round and Balin stepped quickly between them. Opening his mouth to speak he shouted, Stop this -- and the next thing he felt were four knuckles ramming themselves into his cheek. ******************* mark 12_30 , my idea is that Lin accidently punched Balin. My thinking is that she didn't see Balin when Narin's punch kind of turned her around and she just swung as quickly as she could without looking to see just who she was punching. Is that okay with you? If it isn't, I'll gladly edit. :) Cheers! Imladris |
Hee hee hee! She'd be mortified. Go for it.
|
Here, how's this:
Narin could tell that Lin had started to favor his defence. He had become tougher at blocking Narin's rain of punches, but the few hits Lin did land were weaker and had little force behind it. Either he's weakening, Narin thought, as he attempted a blow to Lin's temple, Or he's preparing something big He began to step up his offensive, and managed to knock the breath out of Lin with an uppercut to the stomach. Lin stumbled back, and Narin took his advantage and hit Lin in the eye.(He said later that he meant to do it, but he was really aiming for Lin's jaw) Lin recovered surprisingly fast, but failed to block Narin's next blow. Lin stumbled back again, and prepared to strike Narin with what looked to be all his strength. Suddenly, someone stepped between Narin and Lin. Narin looked up angrily, and recognized Balin through his blood-covered eyes. But apparently, Lin did not, and promptly hit Balin square in the face. |
Wow! This fight is really heating up! And now Balin's getting punched? Cool! :D Anyways, will this fight have any effect in our decisions about going through Mirkwood? I just wanna know so i know how to aproach a post i'm workin' up!
EDIT: THIs is my 300th Post! I'M BEGINNING TO FEEL LIKE I'VE GROWN UP ON THIS THREAD! |
Perky Ent -- Probably so. We're having such a jolly good time with the dwarves' fight, it's be a shame not to follow it through with the elves (not saying that we will fight the elves, but there is an element of danger going through Mirkwood). *evil Calvin grin*

Saraphim , that sounds good, except edit it so that she didn't block Narin's last blow (in my above post I had Narin sock her so hard spun around). Is that alright? Don't you just love a good fight? :smokin: Cheers to all! Imladris |
Don't you just love a good fight?
Of course. :smokin: :)
Hey, you blasted Orcs! You might win, with your armour and numbers and all, but could you beat us, Orc to Dwarf. Durin's Bane takes a swing on him. Splat! Vy ze vay, before ziz iz condemned as a chatty post, could I have the permission of crafting Flói's unheroic exit? |
Unheoric?

So cheers! Imladris |
Let's Roll!
Okay, I think that we have all the fights we need from Balin's, Lin's, and Narin's view.
Saraphim you can now edit mark12_30's post and my own into yours. Let's get this puppy on the road! Cheers! Imladris |
Mind if Flori gets in on the scene there?
|
Im sorry for being away for such a lenght of time, but Ive just had an exam week and looking for work has been rather tiresome, so..
I will post on the RPG as soon as possible |
Quote:
Apologies, apologies... Ah thank you, Will Whitfoot . Feel free to join in the fight... Imladris  |
Don't apologise, Imladris :) Don't be daft.
However, I'm afraid I must do just what I've told Imladris not to, and apologise to all of you for my sparseness of prescence on this discussion thread. Unfortunately, due to an incredibly feat of scheduling, seven different subjects landed coursework on me...all within the same three weeks! Anyway, most of it is fought of so far, so I will be around more, but I am very sorry. Anyway...I will wait to post my next post until that fight and Balin's subsequent bashing has been posted, as I wish to relate to that. Imladris, I will include the contents of Dain's letter in this. :) |
What now, Imladris? I'm not sure what to do.
|
Yes, it is getting a bit muddled, isn't it Saraphim...
Okay. We will wait for Amanaduial to post her bit about Flori. Anybody else who wants to get in on the fight please post here on the Discussion thread. I would like to wrap this bit up by Sunday. Great job everybody! Cheers! Imladris |
I'm sorry, I'm not going to be able to post tonight due to my internet connection being used by my sister for her AS coursework in about five minutes. I'm sorry, I seriously am. If you wish to finish the fight now, that's fine.
Apologies, -Aman |
Meh, it doesn't matter, Aman. We can wait for a few more days as I'm fairly busy and stuff...would you also like to do the forwarding post? And don't your be daft by apoligizing... ;)
Cheers, Imladris |
*****400TH POST*******
Just wanted to say, Nali's little departure is just a little forshadowing that will be worked up in further post. Just to give a little heads up, Nali will become a spaz and start going crazy before the end! Just wanted to let you know, Nali is crazy!
EDIT: THIS IS MY 400TH POST!!!!! NOW I'VE REALLY GROWN UP ON THIS THREAD!!!! |
100 posts in three days... o_O *Dory voice* Keep on posting, keep on posting, keep on posting posting posting... Ahem.
Anyway, thanks for the heads up, Perky Ent, about Nali. *Burns rubbing of hands and "excellent"* It will make Ori rather sad though... Okay, after serious consideration, I will (and I'm not going to change my mind this time) do a forwarding post on Thursday . Hopefully that will give us the time to finish up the fight, explain, give a chance to let Aman do her post with the letter, etc. This forwarding post will bring us to the borders of Mirkwood. Saraphim feel free to paste those sections of the fight now. Alright...I'm sorry this game is kind of dragging, but hopefully we can get it going again... So, cheers to all! Imladris |
:waving fists: I'm ready. (blank stares) Oh, you mean marching?
|
Ok, I edited my post, but do I need to do anything else?
|
Actually, 100 posts in more like 6 days
If Nali could, he would apologise at Ori for being psychotic, but he won't. I'd like to see a dwarf encounter Nali when he's having one of his "moments"! It would be very funny. It's like a moral of life...Never mess with a crazy dwarf!
|
Six days? My mistake. Still impressive.
mark12_30 -- LOL!
Saraphim -- No, just sit back and enjoy yourself. Have a smoke: :smokin: and a mug of beer http://forum.barrowdowns.com/ubb/icons/icon13.gif Perky Ent -- poor Nali! |
Aman!
Thanks so much, m'dear, for that super dooper nice long post you wrote...took a load of my mind... :)
Cheers! |
:)
|
So sorry
I'm sory I haven't posted much. I set up a save and will try to fill it in sometime tomorrow night.
Cheers! Istawen |
Hey Orcs!
Horay fr spring break!
I could go on and on about dumb schoolmates, boring teachers, hefty assignments; but I don't need to, as I'm now on spring break! So, Orcs, what are we going to do? I imagine that we should probably get down to the dirty work of killing off Captain Turgrog. I would like to hear of your plans, Oro and Carlas. I've made the last two posts, and I should let you guys take a turn.:D The time of the Dwarvs is ending, it's soon to be the time of the Orcs! Let's make it an era to remember! ~Pyro~ |
I was hoping to have a post up this week about the "meeting" or whatever orcs would call it, but of course with spring break almost here teachers love to pile up the homework. For March Break I will be leaving for awhile, but I think I might be able to get on the computer at least once every day or two...or three, until Friday when I won't be able to get on to a computer.
I don't think I will be able to post before then, so I think it would be good if the other orcs wrote a post with what they are thinking about finally starting the revolt (and maybe start thinking up some schemes) ;) I will write the post for the meeting during the break, and hopefully have it up on Mondey at the latest. Happy Spring Break! -Carlas |
Oohhh...
Big headache. I am so sorry I haven't been active lately...major rehearsal action going on, plus running the game in Rohan (moderately poorly...thank God for good players), plus actually trying to graduate in this lifetime... Accept my apologies. I'll be back on now. ~Orual |
Okay....I finally filled my save. Things have been so incredibly hectic around here...we are now at the eaves of Mirkwood....
It's alright, Orual . No apologie needed. :) Cheers to all! Imladris |
...so...we are going through Mirkwood?
|
Is that a bad thing? You sound like you don't like the idea....is there any particular reason?
|
We are going through Mirkwood yes, due to our proud and hence rather foolish leader Balin. And as we go through, maybe we may meet a few elves..
Lets seen how things work out, shall we? ;) |
It's not a bad thing
I'm not saying it's bad, because i'm optimistic about it. I like the whole idea of wandering through an uncharted place. The excitment, the adventure! And the occasional elf and spider here and there! Nali's adventurous nature will love admiring all the life in the forest, but the paranoid side of Nali will be having a heart attack!:D Btw, if we do encounter an elf(s) or spider(s), how will we interact? Will it be a first person perspective, where the first to post determins what the spider does, or will someone actually play the part of an elf or spider? Just to let you know, i'd be happy to play an elf or spider :D ! That is...if there is any! I doubt there wouldn't be any, but..you know. BTW, if there isn't any spiders of elves, i'm gonna make Nali see things and think there are spiders and elves around, even if they happen to be some of the dwarves! Foreshadowing! Just kidding!;)
|
Elves and spiders and dwarves, oh my!...
Perky Ent - I would say just play out your character, as that is most fitting to RPGing. However, if you wish to put in a reference from a spider's eyes, then why not?! ;) However, I would rather you didn't do the same from the point of view of the elves. What do you say, Imladris?
|
Yes...having a spider's point of view would be mighty interesting, but not from the elves, as Aman said...
Cheers! Imladris |
My Absence
Everybody: I'm am terribly sorry! But I will not be posting at all during Spring break.:( Again, sorry all!
|
First I want to apologise for my absence
.:(

That's just a thought though... Anyway, when the meeting begins, what will our Orcs do? We have to figure that out. And I also think we need a plan for killing the Captain, with a schedule....timing is everything people. :D I could have a post up for my character, containing his thoughts about the meeting/revolt by tomorrow. How about that? Other ideas? Anyway, if you have idea for the "meeting" itself we need to talk about it, don't you think? Oro  |
Glad to see you back, Oro!
Okay, I have now started the action in Mirkwood. I suppose it might seem as if I'm rushing this rather quickly and, in truth, I am. My reasoning is this: time wise, I think we have only half of it left, which means we should be halfway throught he game right now which we aren't. I would rather spend less time on the journey and spend more time on the drama in Moria as there shall be plenty of complications and problems once we get in there. Cheers to all! Imladris PS: on a sidenote, happy birthday Saraphim! |
possible return...
Well, I said I'd be absent, but I don't know if I will be now. So I've posted a post for Loni, if I'll get another one in over the next few days or not, I don't know!
