Don't forget that if you've lost track of The Phantom and Alien in these confusing and silly stories I'm weaving around, you can look back though the...

PHANTOM AND ALIEN
COMIC ARCHIVE THING

Gosh! Poor Lommy! What kind of revenge will our Pengish trooper take? Will anyone survive her wroth?

Come back on Thursday for THE BIGGEST REVELATION OF THE SERIES! Seriously, it will change your whole view once again. It's that bigger plot twist I've been talking about.

Pitchwife 03-29-2010 07:25 AM

Thanks for the effort, Lilyq, but I've already been converted to the Soap Church. You know, cleanliness is next to godliness, and all that...

Hookbill the Goomba 04-01-2010 01:20 AM

It's the episode you've all been waiting for! The final revelation to end all revelations!

I hope that has changed everything for you! :D

Now you all know their true identities! It's a strange world and the next fifty episodes are going to be even more incomprehensible!

Loslote 04-01-2010 01:31 AM

PS. I tried to edit my last post to include the title but instead it deleted it. So if you're reading this and wondering how/where Hookbill quoted me, this is your answer.

John Fillis moonlights as Shcmurt!

Oh, I love this. My favourite F&S quote by far (including the first part of the "dialogue" which Eönwë put in his post title so I can't quote it).

Anyway, I have to remark that I was most delighted to see this episode (and also amused to see poor Lottie's shock ;) ). These two guys really have to appear more often... Moldutch, sorry, I wanted to say Hookbill (for the record, the mistake was genuine. I have decided to keep it), I don't know how it happened, but F&S somehow became legendary even among some of my youngest cousin's classmates (having not been at home for eight months, I was suddenly told that they have been spending some afternoons out quoting "Fungoltch and Shcmurt save Christmas", so...)

Pitchwife 04-01-2010 03:16 PM

Gimifril!!!

Great one, Hookbill!:D

I absolutely second Legate's demand for more F&S appearances in the future.*

And Lottie, if you're looking for a scientific explanation, my guess would be that FutureAlien's time-travels caused a rift in the continuum that allowed Fungoltch unt Shcmurt to cross over from their parallel universe into P&A's... but I suppose that makes far too much sense, and anyway, who really cares?

*(Personal note on why I like them so much: about twenty years ago, my best friend and me collaborated on a quasi-dadaistic conlang that looked and [presumably] sounded uncannily like the dialogues from F&S, only with less diacritics and non-Latin characters. If you think the phonology was weird, you don't want to hear about the semantics...)

Loslote 04-01-2010 03:28 PM

*is not getting the jokes and is okay with that* ;)

Thirded, but it's still strangely hilarious. ;)

Pitchwife 04-01-2010 04:40 PM

Lottie (and wilwa), have you had a look at this and that?
So we've met them before (and it was high time for another appearance!). Think of them as another variation of the P&A theme, like Phanston and Ailsbry or Sir Phantom and Mr Alan; maybe P&A's doubles from a parallel universe, if you like (hence the unintelligible language*). Just don't expect it to make sense - it doesn't, and that's the fun of it.

*As for the language, I have a hunch it may not be as utterly random as it appears at first glance; at least the obvious loan-word kipling suggests some previous intercultural contact with our universe.

I also have a hunch Hookbill is probably laughing his head off at my attempts to explain it, but that's fine.:)

I was utterly furious with you for five seconds Hookbill . . . all those carefully made predictions centred around Mr Mop. I was so dismayed at their destruction.

By the way, your newspaper prints nothing but the truth. *plugs in blender and lures all the neighbourhood children in for "fun with power tools"* Children are delicious. . . those jelly-based ones too.

And since when have YOU started eating children?! I was the principle child eater here!

We already had the chance to eat you. If we would have done it, we would have done it then. Be happy. You're not that young.

Huh. All the sudden, the fact that we live in the same state is somewhat alarming rather than epically awesome. ;)

Well, just be glad that I don't know your address. I know the address of some Downers, and in fact, have gone to their own house. :smokin:

Don't be alarmed. Just your friendly neighbourhood Barrow-Wight. Would you like to eat children with us?

I love the authorial comments on how hilarious the jokes apparently are:

Come back on Thursday to see how Peter and Death deal with the GIANT OCTOPUS! And yes, that last episode was an April fools and isn't cannon. :D

Loslote 04-04-2010 06:31 PM

I got a bit dizzy going in and out of prison. But I now have a favorite cell - # 47. :p

Laurinquë 04-04-2010 11:19 PM

Good newspaper this week Hookbill! AND THE OCTOPUS! Yess. It had better win the fight.

Hookbill the Goomba 04-08-2010 01:10 AM

On Thursday we'll see what happens in...

THE MEETING OF THE PHANTOM AND ALIEN!! DUN DUN DUUUUN!!

Hope you're all excited about this. But will Peter and Death disrupt that funeral, do you think? Or Alien disrupt it enough on his own?

Also, if you're wanting a Cardinal Mardinal Desktop theme (sort of) you'll find it here... :)

Loslote 04-11-2010 05:08 PM

Before anyone asks, I had nothing to do with Rune's kidnapping, and the fact that this most *unfortunate* turn of events leaves the way open for Loslote's Better Quality Bacon is purely coincidental. Honest. :smokin:

Pitchwife 04-12-2010 08:01 AM

I guess I'll just have to finally post a real photo now...
On the other hand, being a myth isn't so unattractive either. And that dragon pic is real cute... We'll see.
Anyway, :D:D:D

I like it when the Docwner influences reality, rather than just perverting it. :D

Having a bit of trouble keeping up with P&A at the moment, so if worst comes to worst, it may go down to once a week again. :(
