Morgoth 09-06-2006 02:54 PM

You'd be surprised how easy it is to get a computer into the void. Dell will ship one anywhere...!

And yes, the great and mighty Morgoth is from California. Didn't you know all evil people come from California? Just look at Reagan and Schwarzenegger...pure evil! :p

Thanks for the welcome, by the way.

Gil-Galad 09-06-2006 04:32 PM

I'm pretty sure the Governator is from Austria...

shieldmaiden4xsword 09-09-2006 12:18 PM

a few of my friends live in California.....

Kelvins 09-15-2006 08:05 AM

I love LotR and have been lurking for a while. I read the book after the movie. I like them both, but I like the book the best.

Hope to see you around!

Hilde Bracegirdle 09-15-2006 10:12 AM

Yea, another book aficionado!

Welcome Kelvins, and make yourself at home.

Gil-Galad 09-16-2006 12:08 AM

welcome kevins and enjoy yourself here!

NR_Orome 09-20-2006 09:01 AM

hi

Hi, I just found your forums today, decided you were the best site I've seen so I signed up. I have read the books (hobbit, silmarillion, LOTR) long before the LOTR movies came out, and the movies kind of revived the middle-earth fanatic in me. I'm not great with details, as it has been a while scince I read the books, but I will contribute what I can.

Thanks for you answers and feedback to my future questions!

Hilde Bracegirdle 09-20-2006 10:32 AM

Welcome NR_Orome. I know what you mean about the movies reviving the fanatic. Had a similar experience myself.

But if you discovered Tolkien quite a long time ago, you might consider visting this thread. We'd be delighted to have more company!

Gil-Galad 09-20-2006 04:14 PM

welcome NR_Orome, it was the Hobbit that got me onto tolkien

Raewyn, What instrument do you play, and what type of music? Are you tempted to try some Tolkienish music? (If you're into Loreena, you may already play Celtic, or so I'm guessing.) There are musical discussion threads on the Downs, let me know if you'd like some links.

Welcome, Kevins and NR_Orome!

Taimar 09-26-2006 11:46 AM

Hello,

I used to post here regularly, but have been busy for a while...five years or so. I'm glad to see the site has thrived. Well done, Barrow-Wight.

I hope to be an occasional poster from now on.

Gil-Galad 09-26-2006 05:10 PM

welcome back taimar

I've found many links, always check Wikipedia, the good thing i like about it is that it has links to other sites.

Valier 09-29-2006 09:09 AM

Welcome Briseis!! May you have many long, cold, clammy days here! May I suggest checking out some of our Werewolf threads for a bit of action. ;)

Aye, you know this person quite well ;) :p

Thanks everyone!!

Rune Son of Bjarne 09-30-2006 08:15 AM

heh now you have me thinking. . .I know alot of Downers very well, at least I would like to think so. Based on your movements on the Downs, I think I can guess who it might be.

Aganzir 10-03-2006 11:21 AM

Well, I never believed I would eventually join the Downs.
This is all Lommy's fault (can I hear her laughing somewhere?), and I must confess that now she has brainwashed me, too.

Though I wouldn't be here if I didn't love Tolkien, no matter how hard she would have tried.

And yes, I really can't speak English that well, please try to understand.

Nogrod 10-03-2006 11:32 AM

Haa!

Welcome Aganzir! Lommy has done a good work... :D

(If you are fast enough you might still catch Valier's ww-game. )

But really. Enjoy yourself around here as a member now and take part in everything!

And a warm welcome to all other new Downers too! May you enjoy at least as much as I have - and that's a lot.

Aganzir 10-03-2006 11:38 AM

Thank you :p

I'm not sure if I want to take part in any WW-game yet, and Valier's sounds a little too complicated for a beginner like me. Maybe sometimes later.

Nogrod 10-03-2006 11:40 AM

Take your time...

There surely is a host of things to do around. :)

Volo 10-03-2006 12:40 PM

Good job Lommy (and me :p)! Aganzir, now rot happily and long! And join Valier's game or return back to life, I bet you're much much (much) better than me, you have live experince. The "thing" game is just as new to all the rest (I think). Join and you can laugh at me better. ;)

Kath 10-03-2006 01:53 PM

Welcome Aganzir! Don't worry, your English is fine. :)

And well done Lommy, is that 3 she's brought on board now?

Fellow downers, don't believe her. I know how much she has stalked the 'downs and the ww games. She is probably as good in werewolf as an average wwing downer is...

Yep. And I'm quite proud of myself. *evil grin*

But anyway, the point was: Welcome Aganzir and I loved brainwashing you!

Aganzir 10-04-2006 10:20 AM

Than you, Kath, and Volo too (you should know I won't laugh at you :p)

I'm sure you did, it took you a year :p You should be sad now that the purpose of your life is gone.

Valier 10-04-2006 10:23 AM

Welcome Aganzir!!! May your stay be long and gruesome!! :p

OrcLeaderalpha 10-04-2006 12:31 PM

Finrod 10-07-2006 12:04 AM

Hey

Hey everybody!

I'm back(not that any of you would ever remember me) a couple years ago I was signed up as Finrod Felagund. Now after a three year hiatus from LOTR I've come bak and hope to have many a good discussion.

Thinlómien 10-07-2006 05:19 AM

Welcome Tiffany and Finrod! Enjoy your stay. :)

Gil-Galad 10-07-2006 02:42 PM

Welcome Tiffany and Finrod!

wayseer 10-10-2006 04:13 AM

Passing by

Hello fellow wanderers - after much travel I am rather tired and thought I would stop by - well, for a little while perhaps.

I think Tolkien did more than write an adventure - but then you probably know that.

Look forward to meeting you all.

Rune Son of Bjarne 10-10-2006 04:33 AM

Hello wayseer

Welcome to these barrows of ours, may your death be an interesting one.

The Book discutions are a little slow these days, but maybe you can get them going again. If you are more interested in Sillyness, then Mirth might be your thing.

(You have the same avy as The Only Real Estel, this could produce some interesting mix-ups)

Saurreg 10-10-2006 06:19 AM

Wish him not an interesting death for he already passed that point of transition, instead wish him an interesting afterlife with rest of the ghouls and wandering souls here. ;) :D

And yeah, TORE has the same avatar. Looks like you will have to surrender your sig to him, rune son.

Gil-Galad 10-10-2006 04:26 PM

ha ha welcome wayseer where all are welcome, nice avy oh twin of TORE

elronds_daughter 10-13-2006 07:55 AM

I wonder if they look alike in real life...

But indeed, Welcome, wayseer. Enjoy your death--er, life-after-death-after-life.

JuliaChang 10-15-2006 01:59 PM

Hi everyone. I am new here.. my name is Julia ... I'm a newbie to Lord of the Rings.. just saw the movies a few years ago.. hope to learn more here and meet more peeps! ^_^
