P is for Pelendur
The Steward to King Ondoher of Gondor, who was thrust into a position of power when his King, together with both his heirs, was lost in battle with the Wainriders. With the Council of Gondor, it fell to Pelendur to select an heir. There were two candidates: Arvedui of Arthedain, and Eärnil, the Gondorian Captain and victor of the Battle of the Camp, who was descended from the Royal House of Gondor. As the direct descendant of Isildur himself, it could be said that Arvedui had the stronger claim, but Pelendur moved the Council to elect Eärnil, who took the Kingship as Eärnil II. All available evidence suggests that Pelendur continued to serve as Steward under the new King. Pelendur was a highly influential Steward, who accrued considerable power to his office. As well as effectively acting as regent during the interregnum, it was during his time that the office of Steward became hereditary. When Pelendur died, he was succeeded as Steward by his son Vorondil, and his grandson Mardil was to become the first of the Stewards to rule Gondor in their own right. |

Y is for Young, the title awarded to Eorl, as well as to Halthadir, one of Barahir's companions. Y could also be for Younger Children of Ilúvatar, since that's what Men are. |
Z is for Zirak-zigil, which Aragorn and Boromir traveled underneath.

How about objects. I mean the kind that can be carried around in one's hand.
A is for Arkenstone, the great jewel of the Kings under the Mountain. It was stolen from Smaug by Bilbo because he thought it was pretty. Later it was used by him as a (failed) token of peace between the Men and the Dwarves. It failed partly because Bilbo, knowing Thorin would take the stone away from him, did not tell Thorin that he was going to give it to the Men, or even that he had it in the first place. |
if we are discussing object, then
B for Barahir's Ring. It was given by Finrod to Barahir because he had saved Finrod's life. It later became an heirloom to Isildur's house. |
C is for Crown of Gondor
The tall jewelled and winged helm that served the Kings of Gondor as a Crown. After the loss of the last King, Eärnur, it was held in the Houses of the Dead for nearly a thousand years, until a rightful heir came forward at the end of the Third Age. |
D is for the Dragon Helm of Dor-lòmin, heirloom of the House of Hador, and worn by Turin.
