If so, then no. That was just my little fun play about the Barrow Downs (though I guess there is yellow in there as well ) Also, it's kinda fun to make up riddles. Heck, the past few of mine have been made up on the spot about objects I see around me. It's kinda fun, though they are not as good as other riddles & they may not rhyme |
Well, I was joking anyway with the woman with no fashion sense...you know, whatever. Just having fun
Yes, it is a rooster. I liked that riddle Bragolandune...give us more like that |
i thought i'd just chuck one in though it's not my turn (not mine i found it on a website and am not sure if its been posted )
Born at the same time as the world, destined to live as long as the world, and yet never five weeks old. What is it? |
Would it be a month?
|
well im glad you liked it susan its not mine though, i found a great website with a whole bunch on it..so heres another one for you:
I am something people count on, But I'm not your fingers or toes. I am the comfort in your heart, When your mind's not sure it knows. People often call me blind, For I have no eyes to see. Several times I have been lost, But I cannot be given away. What am I? |
Bragolandune - I know this is a simple sounding answer, but is it "LOVE"?
PS - I agree with Gandalf's answer of a month. I can't think of anything else. |
I also can't think of better answers than "love" and "month"
|
Lady_Belin: Maybe the moon?
Bragolandune: I agree with the others, Love? |
Veritas your guess is right and love indeed sounds right to me
P.S. it's báin not belin |
I'm sure the real Belin will appreciate the distinction too, even if she never does read this thread
|
its not love, although i like that answer better than the one i have. the answer is something along those lines though.
|
You're quite right, Susan.
--Belin Ibaimendi |
I thought so
Hey, whose turn is it? Never mind....Bragolandune still has one out [ June 14, 2002: Message edited by: Susan Delgado ] |
Bragolandune,
Is faith the answer you seek? |
or maybe justice?
|
Imagination or fantasy?
|
Truth?

Here is an old riddle that all the Elves should know:
At night they come without being fetched, And by day they are lost without being stolen. |
<font color=gold>STARS!!!! I'm not an Elf, but is that correct?
<font color=purple>Congrats on your new title, by the way, piosenniel |
Gandalf, you were right. the answer is faith.
|
* bows a greeting to Bragolandune *
Here then is the next riddle: I might have a name, then the name gives me might. Even if I am two-handed, I have no arms though I am one. ~~ Gandalf the Grey |
A sword
|
Congratulations Veritas,
Sword is the right answer. Your go, Gandalf the Grey |
Okay here it goes:
I begin with an 'e', I end with an 'e'. And I only contain one letter. What am I? He's not very difficult. Another one: I can be natural or unnatural, you need me, when I'm not with you, you can be lost. |
The first is an envelope, is it not?
Is the second one a compass? [ June 15, 2002: Message edited by: Susan Delgado ] |
<font color=gold>I want to say that the first one is "eye" or "i". It's just a guess, though.
|
The first one is indeed an envelope.
The second one is not a compass. |
is it a clock?
|
Nope, you must think of the first sentence, iit can be natural or unnatural...

*handles over the prize (wich prize?) to Lady Bain.* Well done, it was light!
|
yay yay yay um... i'll have to get back to you because i don't happen to have a riddle on me.
|
Lady Bain has made the suggestion in ME Riddles to retire these two riddle threads and start up a new one either in Middle Earth Mayhem or the Quiz Room. How does everyone feel about this?
I believe she has a point. Two threads are confusing sometimes, not to mention the fact that they're both getting a little long. Also, if we do decide to move, I think it should be to ME Mayhem so as not to interfere with the third riddle thread in the Quiz Room. |
I quite agree with Lady Bain and Susan Delgado that all these riddle threads are getting unwieldly. My question is, why not just stick with the one riddle thread in its logical location, the Quiz forum? Why end two confusing threads only to create a new one in Mayhem? Is the original creator of the riddle thread in the Quiz forum long gone from the Barrow Downs and thus an inactive user who is unable to delete the thread when it gets too long? But still, I'm in favor of at least whittling down redundant riddle threads by deleting two of them, even if we create a new one ... at least then we will have deleted one thread, and anything's better than nothing.
Just my two pieces of mithril, Gandalf the Grey |
I don't mind really, and as there is at the moment now no active riddle, we can better move on to another place, and close this one.
