Incanus (Gandalf), Hurin and Peregrin all committed trollicide. Goldberry did not.
Very good Turambar.. Trollicide ... i like that!!
By the way Susan , Incanus was Gandalf...
Easy one:
Ulmo Gandalf Finrod Tuor Gloin |
They all met Ulmo except for Gloin..........?
Gloin never served a higher power, as Ulmo served Eru, Gandlaf served the Valar, Tuor and Finrod served Ulmo in some way. Also Gloin had never been to the west.
I'm so sorry - I screwed up. The list should have been:
Ulmo Gandalf Finrod Tuor Thorin Forgive me. Only one of these had something, or did something. |
Which Thorin do you mean? There was more than one and I can't decide which one it is!!
Thorin of the Quest of Erebor.
Only Finrod held an elven-ring?
Didn't Gandalf hold Narya? In any case, that's not it. It's something quite obvious.
HINT: Tolkien himself couldn't be added to the list (he'd be a second odd man out.) |
Thorin was the only one not to live in the Third Age.
Thorin was the only one not to live in the FIRST AGE.
sorry
Thorin is the only mortal person on the list?
Although Tuor was a human he did receive immortal life. [ May 31, 2002: Message edited by: Daniel Telcontar ] |
Hint: Edith.
Tuor was the only one who was married. He married Idril Celebrindal of Gondolin.
Darn! I was thinking about the Hint Hint you gave me in What Doesn't Belong, and I just figured it out, only to realise I'm too late!! (Thick, thick Elenya) Oh Well!!
Yep, Joy got it. Ask us one, Joy.
Joy hasn't been around, so I'll step in and ask one
Earendil Snowmane THEODEN Haldir Gil-Galad There: now it's spelled right [ June 12, 2002: Message edited by: Susan Delgado ] |
Only Earendil didn't die in battle?
That would work, but it's not what I was thinking of.
Snowmain: only horse?
Theodin: only one you spelt wrong Earendil: only one that no one in the fellowship ever met? |
What do you mean, I spelled Toedin wrong??? hehe
Not the answers I was looking for though |
Earendil is the only Half-Elven. (Peredhel)
No. Four of them were in something the other wasn't.
which Haldir are you speaking of? the man Haldir from the 1st age, or Haldir of Lothlorien?
I was wondering when someone was going to ask that
I'm pretty sure either one would work. I can't find my copy of the Silm to look up Haldir-the-man and be positive, but I think they both would work. Also, you could replace Snowmane with Gandalf and get the same result. |
uuhhh..theoden doesnt have an "a" in his name?:P
No....What hint can I give that won't give it away? All but one of them had something done for them by another person.
i havent an idea:P
Well, the thing that was done was not so much "for them" as it was for the benefit of the rest of the people of Middle Earth. Is that clear as mud?
there were songs about all of em cept for haldir? dont see how that would benefit people tho
<font color="red"><font size="3">You don't see music and poetry as a benefit to society?
[ June 13, 2002: Message edited by: Susan Delgado ] |
yes i do see why, but i figured you meant in a larger way
What's larger than a universal benefit?
I wouldn't fight about it guys!
Tar Elendil, I believe it is your turn. |
Beren
Hurin Ecthelion Faramir Saruman |
Saruman only non-human?
Saruman only one never to marry? [ June 14, 2002: Message edited by: Susan Delgado ] |
neither of those were the ones i was looking for
Hint-there was more than one Faramir |
