Wanderer of Light 09-06-2007 02:39 PM

Well, I'd better introduce myself as well then eh?...

Its a little funny that I join this forum right now, it's been a while since I red any Tolkien related stuff to be honest. Well, I'm reading some books about Religeon & Science right now (about Evolution, Intelligent Design and the likes) after that I plan on reading 'The Lays of Beleriand' (Is it any good people?;))

Well... er... what else is there to say about me... I play piano..... I'm currently on highschool, after this I'm planning on studying something linguistic..... err.... I occaisionally watch anime.... well.... that's about as intresting as my life gets

~Maarten
(p.s., my real name is Maarten:p)

Thinlómien 09-07-2007 01:16 AM

Welcome to the 'Downs, Wanderer of Light! Enjoy being dead! :D

I haven't read The Lays of Beleriand, but I'm planning to read it soon. I have already had a few sneaky looks at it and I must say it seems excellent, so go ahead and read it! ;)

Boromir88 09-11-2007 06:33 PM

Welcome tumhalad and Wanderer of Light to the forum. Do enjoy. :)

Crownless King 09-24-2007 10:31 PM

Reintroduction

The throws of reality tore me most unrelentlessly and, curiously, most unceremoniously away from most of my online commitments. I've been alive for so long that I no longer remember my brief death here at the Barrow-Downs. I used to be known as Strider, but I've since forgotten my password and my e-mail address has since been deactivated. I hope you can welcome me again as Crownless King. The name I throw about these parts is Adrien (or Adrienne, if you happen to be Orominuialwen), and I would encourage you to employ it. As I have more time on my hands in the coming year, I have no doubt that we're in for a long, lasting, moderately painless relationship.

Best,
Crownless King
Adrien

Valier 09-25-2007 10:08 AM

Hello and welcome all new members!! I have come back to you all at the turn of the tides......Ok well I am back, hopefully for good. Wow it's been awhile, nice to see old faces as well as many new ones.

Thinlómien 09-27-2007 03:05 AM

It always delights me so much when old members reappear...

Welcome back Crownless King Adrien (sounds quite prophetical)!

And welcome back, Valier, you've been away for a too long time... :)

Halbarad-Ir 09-29-2007 03:15 AM

Hi every body!

Well! there's gotta be an introduction of me, ha? And I suppose I should start this way:
Real Name: Ebrahim (u can say Ebi)
Nationality: Iranian
and of course I'm a boy, 22 years old, student of Mechanical engineering!
I was infected with Tolkien about five years ago and I'm loving it more and more every day!
Hope to enjoy this site beside my friends!

Legate of Amon Lanc 09-29-2007 04:51 AM

Welcome, Halbarad-Ir (or Ebi)! We hope you're going to enjoy your stay here! (You don't happen to carry some Dúnedain reinforcements with you, or do you...?)

Of Course I do!!!:D

littlemanpoet 09-29-2007 06:08 AM

Welcome, Ebi. :) I think you may be the first Iranian to be counted among "The Dead". ;) Happy Death Day!

I remember you! Your picture is still up at the Gallery, I believe. Hope to see more of you, Crownless. :)

:cool:what do u mean? u mean about my nickname (halbarad)? I fought bravely and saved my honor! and finally fell on Pellenor fields!

The Might 09-29-2007 07:21 AM

Mechanical engineering...nice to see there still are people studying useful stuff these days...actually I'm planning to study about the same...
Nice to meet you Ebi!

Thinlómien 09-29-2007 09:10 AM

Welcome Ebi!

I believe littlemanpoet refers to our weird habit of calling our fellow forum members dead, because afer all, how could you really be alive in the Barrow-Downs? ;)

Halbarad-Ir 09-30-2007 01:20 AM

Oh!:D
I got it! (I think that is a really strange and Hobbit sized habbit!!!);)

Farael 10-02-2007 02:50 PM

From the shadows of the past, a skeleton hand appears, bathed in a green glow

Hello all.... for those of you who have never seen me, I used to be a regular on this site until RL ran me over. Quite stresful experience! =P But I seem to be better now and so I hope I'll be able to make a return to my comfortable old barrow.

For those of you who still remember me, hello!!! =)

Legate of Amon Lanc 10-02-2007 02:58 PM

Welcome back, Farael! Good to see you here again! (And I don't think it's been such a long time... and if you don't remember me much, I surely do you... that's how the forums work :) )

Thinlómien 10-03-2007 01:45 AM

Hello, Farael!

Welcome back! :D

Though now I wonder if I have some seer-ish abilities: the night before yesterday I had a dream that included you (which I considered weird, because I had not had any contact with you for a long time) and you came back here yesterday ie the day after night I had the dream.

littlemanpoet 10-03-2007 08:42 AM

There's a theory out there that our brains are only the home base for our minds, and that our thought can reach far distant depending how strong, and perhaps the nature of, the connection is to someone we know. ;)

The Might 10-03-2007 10:08 AM

Sounds a lot like what Pengolodh says in Ósanwe-kenta.

I mean his topic is telepathy, but the idea of mind-opening is present.

Loomy, next time we play werewolf together, I'll make sure not to try and kill you =P

Thanks everyone for the warm.... errr cold and scary I meant... welcome ;)

Annatar 10-06-2007 05:37 AM

I must hope being dead isn't too bad.

Unless you're a wolf, I guess. :p

Welcome, Annatar and A Little Green! Enjoy your deaths! And no, A Little Green, it's not bad, it's great fun, you'll see. :D

littlemanpoet 10-07-2007 04:23 PM

Much welcomes, A Little Green. The Dead here are rather a pleasant bunch. Like the Shire we have our happy Brandybucks, our proud Tooks, and our ornery Proudfoots, not to mention sociable Bagginses. They're all here. Friendly too. :)

The Fuzz 10-12-2007 06:04 PM

G'day all, The Fuzz here.

University student in Illinois, haven't read any Tolkien in far too long but recently I've taken in interest in Angmar in specific but also the entire world...

Looking forward to many posts here.

littlemanpoet 10-12-2007 06:12 PM

Greetings, The Fuzz. :) I like your avitar. Welcome to the Downs, and many happy postings. Enjoy your "deadness". ;)

Gil-Galad 10-12-2007 09:42 PM

I am totally reminded of the quote "here comes the fuzz" from the movie Hot Fuzz... good times

Haha, my username actually came from a bunch of pocket lint (long story) but that movie is quite good!

Thanks for the warm welcome. I remember visiting the mainpage often and only now have found the forums.

Maybe the Shadows of Angmar? (refering to the MMORPG that came out somewhat recently).

Either way, welcome to the barrow downs! You'll find that after getting settled in in your comfortable barrow it's quite hard to leave.

Thinlómien 10-13-2007 05:30 PM

Welcome, The Fuzz! Enjoy your stay! :)

satansaloser2005 11-07-2007 12:45 PM

Why hello there. I actually joined a few days ago, but just got around to introducing myself. Ish. :)

Oh and someone in the werewolf games told me I needed to kind of shorten my name. So you can call me Sally!

The Might 11-07-2007 02:33 PM

Nice to meet you Sally!
Looking forward to playing with you in the WW game, my first time too.

Nerwen 11-07-2007 06:17 PM

Hello, everyone. I've been dead for a few days already.

littlemanpoet 11-08-2007 04:57 AM

Welcome Nerwen. Funny, I thought I had seen you around here before. But welcome anyway. :)

Thinlómien 11-08-2007 06:52 AM

Welcome, Sally and Nerwen! I've already seen you around the forums, and would like to see you around in future as well... :D Enjoy your deaths.

Not if it was more than a week or so ago. I have to say, I was surprised this name wasn't already taken.
