That is the correct answer! Thread is paavo's!

paavo 04-01-2005 03:07 PM

Thank you. :)

Don't expect anything grand since I am definately not a poet. :)

A lot have I seen
Long here I've been
Found my home near the half-grown
a good thing for the life of our own

(now that really sucks. I just wrote a poem before this one so I had no inspiration left. yes yes, excuses...)

Nilpaurion Felagund 04-01-2005 07:56 PM

Take a stab.

Gandalf, who found himself "at home" in the Shire, Land of the Halflings?

paavo 04-02-2005 04:05 AM

Good try...

...But no. :p

Gil-Galad 04-02-2005 08:05 AM

me thinks Tom Bombadil... who did live near Buckland

paavo 04-02-2005 08:37 AM

You thinks right. :)

Gil-Galad 04-02-2005 04:02 PM

Charged and fell, Weak but faithful, forgotton yet remembered.

Marky Lazer 04-05-2005 01:05 PM

From the second line, I'd say Boromir...

Marky Lazer 04-13-2005 05:28 AM

Gil-Galad!?

Gil-Galad 04-13-2005 07:14 AM

Nope, before Boromir...

Nilpaurion Felagund 04-13-2005 07:22 AM

Eärnil?

Gil-Galad 04-13-2005 08:31 AM

nope

i wouldn't mind reasons too...

Marky Lazer 04-22-2005 07:25 AM

bump?

Gil-Galad 04-22-2005 08:43 AM

Hint: it was during the Last Alliance

Este of Lorien 04-22-2005 12:40 PM

Isildur?

Gil-Galad 04-22-2005 03:26 PM

nope and please people reasons!!!!!

Amrod the Hunter 04-24-2005 10:27 AM

King of the dead (i mean the damned)?

Gil-Galad 04-24-2005 08:38 PM

nope...Hint: its an elf!!!

Amrod the Hunter 04-25-2005 06:16 AM

Well, only important elves during the Last Alliance were ELrond and Gil-Galad.Someone said Gil-Galad,so I'll say Elrond

Gil-Galad 04-25-2005 07:01 AM

again reasons!!! please people...if i don't get a reason i won't accept the anwser...

(its not elrond by the way)

Marky Lazer 04-27-2005 03:59 AM

Oropher then, he was slain during the War of the Last Alliance.
He's an Elf.
Remembered through his son Thranduil who survived the battle and returned to Mirkwood.
Faithful, because of his picking the side of good?

Gil-Galad 04-27-2005 07:11 AM

Oropher it was!

Charged and fell - charged the Black Gate and was slain
Weak but faithful - Orophers elves had no armour and charged head on, but were true to sticking with the Last Alliance
forgotton yet remembered - remembered indeed by Thranduil, even though no spken much of, hes still there

your turn!

Marky Lazer 04-27-2005 02:25 PM

Thanx...

Some think I'm a bird
Some think I'll land gently in the dirt
Some think I'm a stone
But what I can no one really knows

Gil-Galad 04-27-2005 06:14 PM

no wait Gandalf!

Marky Lazer 04-28-2005 04:06 AM

It is incorrect, and you were the one asking for reasons, weren't you?

Gil-Galad 04-28-2005 08:53 AM

Some think I'm a bird - friends with the eagles
Some think I'll land gently in the dirt - the brown, a nature lover
Some think I'm a stone - Saruman calls him stupid, like a stone
But what I can no one really knows - did not really have a purpose, or no one can see his purpose

Radagast the Brown

Marky Lazer 04-29-2005 12:58 AM

Good try, but not what I was looking for.

Evisse the Blue 05-03-2005 06:18 AM

A hint maybe?

Marky Lazer 05-03-2005 12:25 PM

If I do, I give it away probably... but because you asked that friendly...

Hint: an easy little question, but the more we examine it the harder it gets to answer it.

Evisse the Blue 05-04-2005 09:49 AM

Hmmm...The Elessar?

Marky Lazer 05-05-2005 07:27 AM

No...

bilbo_baggins 05-05-2005 07:41 AM

A dragon? A bird, yet not one, not a stone, yet not one?

Marky Lazer 05-05-2005 02:40 PM

I'm affraid it's not a dragon.

I'll try to come up with a good hint soon.

Marky Lazer 05-08-2005 12:09 PM

A hint then, maybe a bit obscure, but you have to do with it.

I 583

Gurthang 05-08-2005 05:40 PM

A Balrog because some think it can fly, some think it can't, and no one really knows for sure.

Marky Lazer 05-09-2005 03:42 AM

That is the right answer! Gurthang's thread!

Marky Lazer 05-15-2005 01:08 PM

Well, anyone then?

fillynicole 05-15-2005 04:11 PM

Alright, here goes nothing...

We live in the Mountains, dark and damp,
Once we caught dwarves, they'd set up camp,
That night on the doorstep, we walked up the ramp,
And took the travelers out for a stamp and tramp.

Then a bright light, filled us with dread,
the dangerous flash, that made us like lead,
but we kept the dwarves, to the King we led,
when the Beater came out, and stoke him down dead!

We still live in Mountains, dark and deep,
we keep all travelers from their sleep,
along the shadows, swiftly we creep,
after revenge, the promise we keep.

Gil-Galad 05-15-2005 06:04 PM

seems to be most obvious Goblins of Moria...

fillynicole 05-16-2005 05:11 AM

Sorry for being a bit obvious, its my first riddle

Right! Gil-galad's thread!
