Faramir was the only hobbit,
he was the only one whose father was a part of the Fellowship |
not the one i was looking for.
and i was speaking of a different faramir. both were gondoreans.. |
Saruman was the only one who wasn't a Ruling Steward of Gondor.
|
not the one i was looking for.
|
if you know people like ecthelion and beren were stewards they had to be..? what after someone?
|
Saruman was the only one not named after someone else?
|
correct.
your turn |
Ok....I'm away from home and don't have my book, so I'll try to think of one off the top of my head.
Treebeard Rose Cotton Goldberry Beorn Old Man Willow |
Rose Cotton: THe only hobbit
The only one who did not live in a forest? |
The second one is sort of close, but not quite on the right track (although I actually like that answer better than what I came up with )

Correct. Your turn.
|
Bor
Hurin Tar-Elendil Erendis Amandil (careful..the hurin one might be tricky ) |
Bor only Easterling
Tar-Elendil only King of Numenor Erendis only wife of a King Amandil only one who tried to go to Aman |
none of those was the one i picked..
your real close when you talk about numenor though |
HINT: its not Hurin the father of turin.
|
hint: the stewards of gondor were descended from Hurin the numenorean.....
|
Bor is the only one who is not Numenorean! He's an Easterling!! Did I get it right?
|
correct, bor was the only one who wasnt numenorean. your turn
|
WOOHOO!!
Ok: Feanor Ar Pharazon Sauron Saruman |
Ar Pharazon is the only one who never went to Valinor? Or the only King of Numenor?
Sauron the only one who ever met Morgoth? Sauron the only one to create a magic ring? Feanor the only one to create the Silmarils, or the only one who vowed revenge? Ar Pharazon the only one who wasn't immortal? Feanor the only one who died violently? |
Feanor was the only one to die in combat?
Feanor did evil things like the others, but was not an evil character? |
You guys have really good answers, I didn't realize how many answers there was to it! Daniel, you last one was probably the closest, but not it. I'm gonna have to give a hint, it's pretty hard.
What did they all do, don't think too hard on this. It's got something to do with the Valar. |
Feanor is the only one to not be rejected by the Valar?
Ar Pharazon is the only one who didn't create something really powerful? They all led a group of people while defying the orders of the Valar and Feanor was the only one that the Valar sent someone to stop? |
Ooh, Luthien your so close with that last one you said! I'll have to give the answer in a couple of hours or something. I'm leaving tomorrow and I don't want you guys waiting 2 weeks for me! So if you wanna take a guess anymore, post soon!!

All but Feanor were seduced to rebel against the Valar and commit evil acts.
Ar-Pharazon seduced by Sauron Sauron seduced by Morgoth Saruman seduced by Sauron |
That's a good answer too, but unfortunately, my answer was not as good and that's not it. I should have thought of one of those answers instead of my stupid one. But I must tell you now so you all can get on with the quizzing without me. Gotta be going, I'll miss you all!
All but Saruman started a rebellion against the Valar. Feanor rebelled against the Valar Sauron and Ar Pharazon rebelled against the Valar. I guess you could say the rebelled against the Valar because of Morgoth. Morgoth stole the Silmarills, therefore Feanor went after him. Sauron convinced Ar Pharazon that Morgoth was truly the Savior and that he should go to the Undying Lands. Bad mistake man, seriously. Saruman didn't rebel against the Valar but he did make an army and he did go against their will, but he didn't start an uprising. Sorry for the confusion, can't wait to come back! |
Ah, but technically, Saruman did rebel against the Valar. For one he joined with Sauron, who was the main opponent of the Valar. But more importantly, he was sent by the Valar to counter Sauron. He is called a traitor because of course he betrayed his fellow Istari, and the Valar who sent them by joining Sauron. Then when he betrayed Sauron, he took his treachery even further by plotting to take over the world including Sauron. I think the seduced one was a good idea.

Sam
Saruman Gandalf Bilbo I'm sure this one is terribly easy, but here it is. |
Saruman was the only evil guy?
Saruman was the least hobbit-related guy? |
Saruman never touched the One Ring?
|
Turambar got it.

Dragon
Orc Dwarf Man Elf HINT: a famous man of the First Age. |
The orcs have no one mentioned by name in the First Age?
Or are you thinking of Hurin, or Turin, considering your name? |
I'm reviving old threads. Someone go!
|
Sorry it's been so long, I had forgotten this thread. I believe the answer was dwarf - because Turin, the "famous Man of the First Age" in the hint, killed many men and orcs, Glaurung the dragon, and (accidentally) Beleg the elf - but is not recorded as killing any dwarfs. I think.
Daniel Telcontar mentioned Turin, so he can ask one. |
well, here goes:
Elros Elladan Elrohir Elrond |
Elros was the only elf to become a man.
|
Either that or Elrond was the only one to stay an elf, or go over the sea
How about Elrond was the only one to have a ring of power? |
Yeah, that's a good one.
