I've updated the list and added about a dozen members/PTs I missed. Eighty-one pages of members....I guess I was bound to miss some.

Anyways, my ultimate favorite PTs are Aylwen's "Melody of Misery," Dwarin's "Khazad-Doomed," Guinevere's "Banshee of Camelot," Encaitare's "Bittersweet Symphony," Orofaniel's "Mighty Mouse of Mordor," and Nerindel's "Spirited Weaver of Fates."

Just looking at the list, I see so many great titles- it was hard to choose only a few....

Thinlómien 08-30-2006 02:59 AM

Shady is not meant to be anything rapper-like, as you guessed... (though, what's the problem with Thin-Lo being a rapper; that's not so very far from it...) It just sounds a bit undeadish and refers to me in werewolf games... :D

I've just changed it for the week I'm doing at the moment. It now reads "Dead Good".

Wish I'd chose that as a Personal Title.

... :D

I find it quite funny since I used to consistently mis-spell your name thinking of lomion...twilight ..which is shady.... so glad I was forgiven and allowed to call you Lommy ;)

Kath 08-31-2006 04:24 PM

I was going to say Lommy, that's all very well, but your name is not Thin-Lo! Lommy it has been since first I forgot how to use the accent thingy and Lommy it shall be forever!

Brinniel 09-01-2006 02:20 AM

Congrats to Alcarillo, JennyHallu, and Anguirel on their lovely new PTs. :D

Anguirel 09-01-2006 06:32 AM

Grazie...occurred to me while ranting about the Byronic aspects of Feanor and co...

I was considering "Feanorian Falchion" but eventually dismissed it as slightly too obvious...

JennyHallu 09-01-2006 07:52 AM

Why thank you! I'm quite excited about it. Looks so pretty and title-y and important there under my name.

Gil-Galad 09-01-2006 02:04 PM

i wonder if Jenny is the "youngest" downer to get a PT...

youngest i mean since you joined, which hasn't even been a year.

It does seem to suit you though, Ang, I would never describe you as "mad, bad and dangerous to know"

There are others of a shorter time than one year.

Meneltarmacil 09-01-2006 02:27 PM

I'm still kind of wondering what, exactly, is the sort of thing that would prompt the giving out of a personal title. Granted, those who have received them deserve the honor, I'm just wondering...

Mr Modest here does not mention that he joined at the end of April last year and had his title by the second of Sept ..if I am correct in my reckoning .... makes me look like a slacker ;) ... but of course it was some time before I dared post.. :p

Folwren 09-01-2006 05:09 PM

Oh, guys, I can't decide on mine at all. *sigh*

By the way, I don't understand yours at all, Anguirel, and was going to ask you sometime or other. . . is there something behind it?

mormegil 09-01-2006 07:39 PM

Let me compliment Ang on his choice...a fine selection and very fitting.

The first prerequisite is a minimum of 500 posts. From the Forum FAQ thread (top of the N&N forum main page):

Next requirement is that those posts make a significant positive contribution to the forum:

The reputation level of a member is a factor that can recommend her/him for a personal title, and of course the recommendations of the various forum moderators. One more thing you may have noticed: personal titles are usually given in bunches, not singly.

Anguirel 09-02-2006 02:35 AM

Folwren, Byronic comes from the Great Romantic Poet George Gordon, Lord Byron. It's basically come to mean "devil-may-care debonair defiance" kind of thing. "Brand" means a sword, so it's appropriate enough for me...

Mith, no? I must strive harder!

Mithalwen 09-02-2006 05:26 AM

Oh but Ang I have this premonition that when I am gaga and institutionalised and you have achieved the greatness you are surely destined for I shall be bragging to anyone that will listen that I knew you ...

and they will think daft old bat and up my medication.... ;)

Much-missed Finwe comes to mind...but I can't remember how long she had been a member before she was offered one.

Firefoot 09-06-2006 05:45 PM

Folwren, I just noticed yours and like it very much. :) Congrats!

Folwren 09-06-2006 06:56 PM

Thanks mightily, Firefoot. :)

For some reason I never noticed Formendacil's. I love it! Very cheeky. :D

Unless you're serious. :p

Rune Son of Bjarne 09-07-2006 10:40 AM

Yes, I did. Thank you. I was torn between Prisoner of Hope or Messenger of Hope, so I went up to ask Mom.

"Mom. . .are we prisoners of hope?"

She gave me a rather quizicle look. "I don't know. Maybe."

Well, thought I, I guess that would work. A moment later: "Mom. . .Are we messengers of hope?"

"I hope so!" was her very immediate answer.

And so it came about, though I still deliberated for a few days after that. :)

Wait 'til The Might has a PT and even that might happen... :D

Volo 04-20-2007 03:54 AM

Which reminds me to write down my 25th PT candidate... :o

The Might 04-20-2007 07:10 AM

I like Formendacil's Dead Serious...
I have a question...how do you get a title?
I looked it up in some FAQs, but couldn't find anything.

When you have 500 posts the BW can decide you deserve one and when or if he sees fit, he sends you a PM asking would you like to have one.

edit: Usually there's always a bunch of people who get PTs the same time, and the PT offers are sent something like once or twice a year, if I'm correct.

The Might 04-20-2007 07:33 AM

I see, thanks for the reply. :)

it really depends on the person, it took me 3 years to get mine, it may take you the same or even less, so just have patience for now

Thinlómien 01-28-2008 02:46 PM

Yay, I see the quickest of the newest bunch of brand new PTers already has his own:

Splendid - I was thinking we hadn't had any new ones for ages... :D Congratulatiuons .. I remember how delighted I was to get mine :D

Naria 01-28-2008 03:02 PM

*Squeals with delight*

Heh, well it seems I have done something right for the past couple of years:Merisu:

I just read my PM from the almighty BW. I wasn't at all expecting to ever have a personal title so I'm kind of at a loss for ideas. If anyone would like to make some suggestions, I'm all ears:D

Kath 01-28-2008 03:03 PM

Ah I was wondering who the latest batch consisted of. Nice to see some new ones. :)

Something fiery becasue of your screenname .... Flammifer of Westernesse?

The Might 01-28-2008 03:17 PM

Ah thanks!
I actually wasn't really looking for something really special, just something like a title that you could actually have in M-e.
And since I didn't want to make anything important I decided for the guards as I've always liked the Gondorians.
