Maybe.....Elrond?

evilgypsies 06-07-2003 05:59 PM

GANDOLPH SAID IT TO FRODO WHEN HE CAME BACK TO TELL HIM ABOUT THE RING

gilraën 06-07-2003 06:32 PM

I wasn't Elrond, and I already said it wasn't Gandalf who said this, hint, it happens late in LotR.

Manardariel 06-08-2003 01:30 AM

Frodo in Mordor? ohh, no, wait: Denethor in his pyre!

gilraën 06-08-2003 04:08 AM

Yes Manardariel

Your turn.

Manardariel 06-11-2003 03:14 AM

Manardariel 06-11-2003 01:04 PM

I´m stumping people! Yay!

gilraën 06-11-2003 01:27 PM

The only other one I can think of is Eowyn to Aragorn?

Manardariel 06-11-2003 01:46 PM

Yes! very good!
and congrats on your princess-ness!

gilraën 06-11-2003 04:42 PM

Thank you.

Strange how an answer about a daughter of kings should elevate me so high

Hm, is that Merry to the other Hobbits, when coming back to the Shire?

Manardariel 06-12-2003 09:17 AM

Froso in Rivendell, when he first wakes up?

gilraën 06-12-2003 01:40 PM

Neither, sorry

Arvedui III 06-12-2003 03:04 PM

um, dunno. Aragorn to Arwen?

gilraën 06-12-2003 04:02 PM

No neither, sorry

mordor136 06-12-2003 04:13 PM

Sam to Frodo when they passed the tree they hid from the black rider in. Except when he said it they were going to the grey havens.

Manardariel 06-22-2003 03:38 PM

hem hem

(only people who have already read Harry Potter 5 will get this)

hem hem

gilraën 06-22-2003 05:03 PM

Yes 'Dolores', thank you for the prompt. The correct answer has been given by mordor136

Manardariel 06-25-2003 08:17 AM

Professor Umbrige for you.

The Saucepan Man 06-25-2003 09:17 PM

Manardariel, the correct quote was given by mordor136, so its his/her turn to post the next one.

Manardariel 06-28-2003 05:03 AM

I´m confused....doesn´t the 10 days rule count in here too??

I think it does...

My interpretation of the 10 day rule is that when someone's answer is confirmed they have 10 days within which to ask the next one. Otherwise, it's a bit unfair on the person giving the answer if that answer is not confirmed until the end of the 10 day period. So, if mordor136 has not asked a question by 2 July, you may continue, Manardiel.

I will clarify this in the Quiz Room rules.

Guinevere 07-06-2003 04:02 AM

Well, 10 days have passed now since the confirmation of Mordor136's answer!

Therefore I assume that I may proceed now with answering Manardariel's quote:
Quote:

I am ready
That was Frodo to Sam in Rivendell ("Many meetings") when he had just gotten up and Sam came to show him around in Elrond's house.

Manardariel 07-11-2003 01:04 PM

I´ll just believe you.....I kinda forgot about this qoute....sorry!

Guinevere 07-12-2003 02:36 PM

Thanks, Manardariel! (I know I was right, because I looked it up) Well, for a new quote:
Quote:

Meaning we're not, I take you.

Eressië Ailin 07-18-2003 01:12 AM

Oh! I love that quote! Sam to Faramir and his men~

Quote:

`Elves? ' said a third, doubtfully.

`Nay! Not Elves,' said the fourth, the tallest, and as it appeared the chief among them. `Elves do not walk in Ithilien in these days. And Elves are wondrous fair to look upon, or so 'tis said.'

'Meaning we're not, I take you,' said Sam. `Thank you kindly.'
Typical Sam!

Guinevere 07-18-2003 01:29 PM

That's right, Eressië Ailin your turn!

Gandalf says this about Gollum

Dondagnirion 09-24-2003 12:27 PM

I am going to try a longshot here and say its Frodo to Gandalf.

gilraën 09-24-2003 03:55 PM

Estanesse got it right, Merry said it to Strider/Aragorn at Bree.

Quote:

All is vain, you say, if he has the Ring.
An easy one, I think

Guinevere 09-27-2003 02:30 PM

Hm, I think that is someone at the last debate. Is it Imrahil?

Lostgaeriel 09-27-2003 11:04 PM

No, it's Éomer in The Last Debate.

Quote:

'But how is this? asked Éomer. 'All is vain, you say, if he has the Ring. Why should he think it not vain to assail us, if we have it?'

Estanesse 09-28-2003 08:07 AM

Your right Lostgaeriel, twice
