Gil-galad is a zany member of the Downs. Don't believe me? Then just investigate his unhealthy (as I deem it) fascination with that certain Dragon (and no, it's not Glaurung). For a fairly new member on the site his post count is extremely fertile (is that the right word?), yet he is no stranger to mischief. He once incurred the wrath of the Wight by posting that rather bizarre challenge to Morsul the Dark once upon a time. O mighty Elf! What were you thinking? ;)

Yet he is clever. And he also considers himself worthy of screaming hordes of fangirls for some reason. Yet there is perhaps room for only one poster-boy on the Downs. Is Gil-galad that boy?

Eomer lives in Scotland, has worn a kilt, and is probably the most-stalked 'Downer ever. (Unless Orlando Bloom is here and we don't know it ;) )

Elennar is one of the only two active people at my forum. (Cough, active, cough cough)

Well, it was said but I'm as good as reminding you, that NF's real name is Louis Ortal, though he frequently names himself Adam. Work it out for yourself, I failed to see the grounds for such a shift ;)

Besides, he likes to joke about things he holds the most dear and most important, and in this respect he is more alike to hobbits than elves, sonship of one of whom he claims, as is observed by the choice of his screenname

He's already turned 18, if my poor math abilities do not mislead me in adding up 14 and 4 and getting a result. Recently, he made a quick decision to redesign his webpage and now probably regrets it a bit, as he lacks time to do it properly due to study and other affairs IRL

Lhuna is a high school senior with some issues pertaining to her vision. She enjoys mental exercise, as deftly illustrated my her interests, which include thinking until she is confused, reading, writing, and having an all out good time. Lhuna is some 2 years younger than me, which rather confuses me, as I am one of the "youngins" in my own senior class, having started school just weeks after I hit age 5. Kudos to either the brains involved, or the differences that locations bring. ;) She is a far more active member than I on the Chapter-by-Chapter project, which I regret, but due to time constraints, it's just not possible to do more than skim it occasionally.

Imladris is an upstart, a trouble-maker, and is also very clever. She finds time to hunt down disturbing avatars (or is that just me?) and is also one of the Downers most confused by others of being of the opposite gender (possibly because Elrond was Lord of Imladris?).

She also apparently has a substantial interest in the Sea. :)

Eomer of the Rohirrim is interested in the study of Wargs, asserts that the time spent brushing your teeth is a good time for deep thought, and is a very stalked Barrow Downer. And he lives in Scotland.

Carnimírië has been a member of the forum for nearly 5 months. She will be 15 in 19 days time and will apparently be celebrating her birthday on the heights of Dorthonion. :eek:

She rides occasionally and like to browse the forum, where she has become a very adept player in the Quotable Quotes room. :)

(I'm assuming that she's a she from the nick.)

The Saucepan Man, otherwise known as our renowned clatter-er, is a swell fellow from England where he enjoys reading, playing with his two younger Saucepans (yes, I've seen your picture with them ;) ). He is an incredible quizzer, not to mention very knowledgeable of random facts outside Middle Earth as well. He's one of the best leaders I've ever seen and moderates his forums like, well, a saucepan :) ...PanMan's also an incredible writer and probably owes it to the fact (like many of us) that he's very well read, especially of our dear old Professor.

She maintains this journal and does something called extreme potato counting. She claims to have mastered the Complex Philosophy of Procrastination. Ms. InklingElf has roots in Baguio, a cold, cold place (relative to the Tropics) in the Philippines, though she currently makes abode in San Fransisco, CA.

Nilpaurion Felagund, although he hasn't just copied her sig forever, has certainly maintained his current avatar for somewhere near forever! He once played a character in the Green Dragon Inn for quite some time about four months back - a sketch artist who drew with charcoal.

Aman has more time than I do (that's why you've never seen me at the Green Dragon Inn), she earned some points from Fea for recognizing a Gary Jules song ("Ghosts", I believe), and she has an orange aura.

Oh dear... this is too fun.

The phantom has an exceptional fondness for a local burger joint. He assures me that we New Yorker's are missing out for lack of it. He is a sports enthusiast who keeps fit and trim by playing more of them than I ever had any inclination to do. His hometown of Omaha, Nebraska boasts a fine history of quickly picking up on the latest fashion trends.

the phantom: A Nebraskan (Omaha to be exact) who idolizes Tom Osbourne, but would always stop to help a Kansan like me change a flat tire...unless he had a game to catch. None of us can deny that he actually looks like his avatar, & I believe he must be the 'man in black' that vandilized the football stadium in Manhattan :p.

Estel is a young man who lives in America (not too vague I hope?). He is highly entertained by sports (reminds me of myself when I was his age) and seems to be a healthy, chirpy kinda guy. There is one famous point of contention among Estel enthusiasts however, namely his appearance. He is surely an enigma, a mystery, almost ghost-like (well, at least for the people who don't want to hunt down a pic!) and is notoriously cryptic when responding to the guesses as to his style and pinache (is that a word? it is now).

Currently I am working on the theory that he has a wooden leg (gauged from several clues on other threads). He will deny this but we should not take this too seriously because the other important thing about Estel is that he is a compulsive liar. ;)

Gil-Galad is the Pun Master. Challenge him not, or you shall find yourself up to the neck in puns while he cackles and burninates you. He appears to be a Python fan, and is 15 years old. He also enjoys confusing the poor unsuspecting newbies in the introduction thread. ;)

It is not unknown of the phantom to do silly things like peg people with snowballs. He uses his phantom mask to cover up (as he says) extreme hotness, and is quite clever, having understood that Trans Am translated to Firebird.

Feanor is an excellent quizzer, RPs in Rohan at the White Horse, and either lives in Indiana, fancies an Indiana based sports team, or loves Indiana Jones (her sn involves Indiana at least), which as I live there myself I find intriguing. ;)

Sophia the Thunder Mistress has good taste in poetry and music, and is altogether absent from our site too often. She's been away since March!

With a birthday ten days before Bilbo's and Frodo's and a post-per-day average of 1.34, Legolas is quite a main-stay on this site.

elronds_daughter is insane. (We're kindred spirits, then! :D ) She used to be - or maybe is until now - a CIA agent...and now she has to kill me. She has Arwen for a sister and I'm always wondering how she deals with it.

She decided to be dead May 4 of last year, and will be turning a thousand years old on December 9. :D

Lhunardawen apparently enjoys the GooGoo Dolls, judging by her location. She also has a birthday just nine days before my own (Jan. 4, Jan. 13), since having it pointed out that she was a non-thread-starter the lovely lady Lhun has started three threads, two in the Books and one in the Movies. Judging by this fact, it seems she may be easily guilt tripped by HI ;).

I see the thread is going strong again :)
 

This is Sophia the Thunder Mistress' second visit to this here thread

Her real name is Sara, she has just turned 22, and she's back to the Downs after quite a long break (And she was missed!). Sara stands for princess, whilst Sophia may be translated as wise one. And wisdom-lover she truly is, for she was away and busy with her education - that is, philosophy (love of wisdom).

While studying, she probably listened to Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Grand Funk Railroad and the like, for she defines her preferences in music as 'classic rock'

I can not state it ias fact, but, I believe, her view is that humanity is already past the summit of its cultural development, and now moves downward. Whether there is a chance of reversing the process, remains to be seen yet.

Else, she contributed (several times too!) to the development of the BD fora from her own pocket and now has the honorific of Protector of Cardolan. In the thread of fame for Barrow Benefactors however, esteemed BW omitted starting capital S for her name, so she's ophia the Thunder Mistress there ;).

She likes shopping, but dreads the process as well - for she's a sure 'big spender' - going out with the purpose of purchasing one concrete item, she's likely to come home with some other things she never intended to buy at all from the start, but which took her fancy in the process :D
