Hi Alk, I found a digital photo. I'll be darned, I didn't think I had one. It's a little on the fuzzy side but it's recent at least. I'll replace it once I have a chance.
-Maril |
Ok I have added Marileangorifurnimaluim (sorry about the poor quality Maril) and lindolirian to my member’s pics. Click on the link below to check them out.

Maril, I didn't think you'd ever get a picture up, I thought you were just teasing us! Wow! are you trying to look sexy there?

Did you know that the second page is messed up a little? Or maybe it is just my computer. There is a double of van, mis match in names with frieda and varda and I am squished to the size of a pencil. |
WOW Great pic Elendur. But I still believe that I am the best looking. JK

Refresh your computer. My computer at home did that and I thought that I had been hacked but once the page was refreshed it was ok. |
Thanks Alk, worked out fine now!
Lindor, great hair! |
Hey, Rae, yeah I didn't think I'd get around to it either - and I didn't! *laughs* I just happened to be half asleep and my boyfriend snapped this photo on the digital. I wasn't sure about sending it, but it literally is the only digital photo I have (other than one that's rather inappropriate). That brings the tally to:
Pictures of cat - 936 Pictures of hikes - 59 Pictures of me - 2 Alk, I send you a fuzzy photo that was rather small to start with, and you do the best you can with it, eh? Thank you. I will try to find something better. But the problem is you see, (note the statistics above) I'm usually on the wrong side of the camera. There isn't any such thing as inappropriate.
|
Maril,I'll bring a camera when I see you Thursday and maybe we can get some stranger on the street to take our picture. Maybe in front of the Pike Place Market sign or some other landmark.
Well actually, you are the one with the digital cam. If I took it we'd have to wait for processing. [ September 24, 2002: Message edited by: Raefindel ] |
Hey, am I the only one to notice that it's mostly women who've posted their pics? Do we have an overwhelming majority of women at the Downs? The member pics page is basically a harem. Now I thought Barrow-Wights were too dead for that sort of thing...

At the start of the forum it was mostly guys, but now it mostly isn't.

You can never be too old or too dead. If you want proof, just watch Clerks. I've said this before, and I'll say it again: Turambar is a hottie. So is Maril. |
No, actually, I just think that most of us guys out there are too shy to show ourselves.

Oh, dear Lush,

We are wishing to purge our forums of such insights as "Fifty ways to ravish Frodo," and "Oh for the love of Sean," and "What did Orli do in your dreams last night?", and "Give me Gimli's godly features," and you want to replace that with "The Barrow Wights are sex gods"? Not that they aren't, but you know what I mean. Bethberry |
Maril started it!!!
Have you seen Clerks? I guess you haven't, since you don't get the joke. As for Turambar being good-looking...Well, this thread was set up so that we may see each other's pictures and comment on them. Wasn't it? Turambar graced us with his picture at his own risk, and it's certainly not my fault that he's cute. Heh. |

girls ≠ women

red is your picture on this page?
|
No. See BW's original post on this thread to find my pictures. I think there are three. Oh, Belle has several pictures on that page as well. She masquerades as Trivia-Bot.

Alk., just as I suspected. Lush, Clerks is one of my all-time favorite movies. "And I'm not even supposed to be here today!" Some nursing friends of mine have a few similar (well not that similar) macabre corpse stories. Quote:
red - girls? As I'm staring in the face of 35th birthday, all I can say is bless you. Guess all those trips to the acupunturist did the trick? -Maril [ September 26, 2002: Message edited by: Marileangorifurnimaluim ] |
I would assume he would recognize it as an ironic joke which supports the values of this site.
Just as I assumed that Lush, who I consider myself to be on good terms with, would enjoy the joke also. [ September 26, 2002: Message edited by: Bethberry ] |
well, if you ladies get too desperate, i'll just send some more pics of me...MUAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!
|
Well, the B-W is very handsome as well. This is an educated statement, based on a serious, prolonged study of his picture.
|
Et tu, Lush? I wondered what a man who spent so much time designing and running the Downs would look like. I thought he'd be thinner, with perhaps a computer growing out of the side of his head. Saw the pic and thought - hey, he's cute!
I want a picture of Mithadan. Met Raefindel today - she's a gem. Hey, Bethberry, not to worry, I did get the joke. Sorry it didn't come across in my post. -Maril |
Okay, good, thanks Maril. I need winking smilies. Or maybe I need new glasses, LOL.

Turambar could play Heathcliff in a movie.
But who can resist the twinkle in The Squatter's eyes? Burra, I have not found your photo yet. You know what? Rae and I forgot to take pictures of the first annual Seattle Barrow-Downs convention. (oops.) |
I thought of that as I was getting on the Ferry! We shoulda had the guy in the Scottish Import store take it for us! DUH!
Maril is wonderful! Our conversations covered everything from family dynamics to the "randon object generator". She is sweet and very real. |
Nay, not Heathcliffe for Turambar. Rochester.
And shame on the two of you for forgetting to take pictures. Now you will just have to send us sketches. [ September 27, 2002: Message edited by: Bethberry ] |
Nah, We'll try again, this time on My side of the water.

OK Lady Bethberry, the Mormegil has recorded that little jibe in his memory bank. EDIT: how Bb sees Turambar: http://images.allposters.com/images/73/039_70580.jpg [ September 27, 2002: Message edited by: Turambar ] |
Grievous disservice. *curtsies with humble apologies and a twinkle in eye* Although the voice ...
I never knew Welles played Rochester! I have no movie visions of Rochester, since I hate every Bronte movie I've ever seen. (Though George C. Scott did play Rochester.) Nor did I wish to imply any dismemberment. Or blindness. *smiles a Mona Lisa smile* |
(basso profundo) "We will serve no bethberries before their time."
The Orson Welles version is pretty good; it has Joan Fontaine as Jane and is direcetd by Robert Stevenson, who is clearly a genius, since he later directed "That Darn Cat!", "Son of Flubber", "The Absent-Minded Professor" and -- yes, you guessed it --"Old Yeller". I went off-topic again. |
burra- like the new pic!
