Phantasy Football: Arda Cup 2010
 

Welcome to the Phantasy Team Competition! :)

Before I list the rules for this year's competition, we need to take care of one team's roster. Specifically- The Barrow-Downs!

As co-mods, Phantom, Nogrod, and Skip are already on the team (favoritism, I know :p), but there are several slots still open. (Boro is a co-mod too, but he elected to be Arda Cup President and Head-Ref rather than a "mere player".)

So, it is time to take nominations and second/third/fourth others who are nominated. If a Downer receives four nods I will automatically place him/her on the team, and if eight members don't reach that point I will take the eight with the most support.

And please don't nominate too many people, or vote for too many people. Keep it limited (at the start especially) to give others a chance to put someone forward.

I think aside from EomerWarg the 'Downer team this year will be taking human forms to go with a less aggressive style of play. ;)

I third Eomer, second Gwath, and nominate Lari and Mira.

I will second Mira, Lari, and Glirdan if anyone can recruit them to play in the Phantasy tournament. :)

I would firstly and foremostly first and second all those who take part in the game.

I've received a message informing me that Mira and Lari will be playing, so... seconded.

Hakon says he's playing and he's too lazy to get in here and tell you all himself. He also told me I'm playing, but since I don't know anything at all about soccer...:rolleyes:

Well, Mith has just informed me that she doesn't want to play (even in human form), so I'll nominate Loslote here instead.

Oh, thank'ee all. :) We do need some sort of Wargish spirit if we want to win this trophy.

I nominate davem - we can't be all ferocity, we need some brains in that midfield too! Who's with me?

I will certainly try to take part again. My efforts in previous competitions have been woeful. Must do better.

Well I've been informed (sort of) by Prince Philip himself that I'm playing. Heh.



I'll third Fea and second Steve, as well as nominating Rikae and Brinniel.

With the condition they can have joint custody of a team, to help eachother out, Fea and Nienna are in.

So, lets fourth EomerWarg and Fea to start filling the team up eh?

The other conditions, which B failed to mention, are that I expect unrivaled fan support and blatant favoritism.

I'd like to fourth Fea and cement her place, because I've always looked up to her and even though I'm not very active, I tend to idolize anything she says or does when I am here.

While that's the kind of adoration I was looking for, I think you miscounted, Teapot.

So Boro has asked me to get in on this and I totally would if my schedule allows it. But sadly, I am not sure what my schedule will be like next week and after that, I'm in "show mode" as I like to call it. In other words, the show I am in opens in just under two weeks time and my life will pretty much be dedicated to that. But I'll think about it and let everyone know by Tuesday night.

Of those nominated/seconded (who I'm aware of) Lari and Lottie. TGEW played last year, but I haven't heard if she will this year?

Apparently Hakon, wilwa and sally are in too, but are not nominated as of yet. :D

TGEW won't be playing this year. Glirdan hasn't decided yet, so that's why I didn't second him. I've already seconded Lari and Lottie.

I will be posting the complete rosters for all 32 teams tomorrow (posted on this thread), and friendly matches will begin tomorrow or the day after (posted on the game thread). The competition rules will be posted on this thread immediately before the rosters. Once the rosters are up you can begin selecting your team and making pre-tournament predictions, but there's no hurry. You have plenty of time. That's one reason we started nice and early this year- ample opportunity to bring in competitors (it's not too late to join, tell your friends!), a large window in which to set up your team and make predictions, and once the tournament starts you should again have plenty of time to make decisions between rounds.

What a solid and tough team the Barrow-Downs seems to have! They can't lose!
