Aylwen Dreamsong 03-12-2003 06:40 AM

Looking over the second page, thanks to lord of dor-lomin. At least someone liked my old sig:

Quote:

Friends don't let friends walk through ancient labrynths drunk.
I never can seem to keep a sig for long, and I think this one had the record with three weeks or so. I'm always changing my sig.

But I also (sadly) can relate to the quote in Sadbh's sig:

Quote:

Eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we take the Standardized Tests.
So is the way of things at least once a month in my school system. I also liked doug*platypus' sig:

Quote:

~ the early bird gets the worm... but the early worm gets eaten ~

Thank you Silmarien! I got it from a website that I have forgotten.

elven maiden Earwen 03-15-2003 10:58 PM

i love shy hobbits:
Quote:

Make Middle-Earth a friendlier place, hug a balrog today

Gorwingel 03-16-2003 12:56 AM

but wouldn't hugging a Balrog burn a little, ok, maybe a lot

Sophia the Thunder Mistress 03-16-2003 08:55 PM

I love Mattius' about the scary clowns. Also Brinniel's something about background music... made me laugh a lot

Bethberry, what poem does your sig come from? I like it...

Bêthberry 03-16-2003 09:52 PM

The poem is called "Vessel," Thunder Mistress. I'm glad you like the lines I've guoted.

Interesting bit of Donne you've chosen for yours.

Bethberry

Hirilaelin 03-18-2003 09:48 AM

It took a bit, but I finally got a signature I like! I can't seen to stay with one for long though, so it's no telling if this one will be around for long.

Gorothlammothiel 03-18-2003 10:43 AM

Oh I don't know Hirilaelin, I quite like this current one of yours, original and amusing.

I always liked the signature which read:

"The fool speaks of that he knows, the wise knows of which he speaks"

I cannot remember who it belonged to though. It think it has been changed, who ever it was that had it as I have not come across it recently.

Hirilaelin 03-18-2003 05:27 PM

Thank you much! Maybe this ones a keeper after all. But I like this quote... "I'd rather be quietly brilliant than obnoxiously average."

Sophia the Thunder Mistress 03-18-2003 11:52 PM

Bethberry- Mmmm.... it's my favorite bit of Donne, although I love the whole poem those lines ring pretty true with me.

Bill Ferny 03-19-2003 01:44 AM

Lush, if I had known you liked my signature, I would have put about two more seconds of thought into it before I changed it .

In light of a rather embarrassing public tirade at a café and a scrap with a guy in a black turtle neck, my therapist is urging me to get in touch with my inner Frenchman.

Annunfuiniel 03-19-2003 02:51 PM

There are numerous hilarious/wise/wicked or otherwise just great sigs and it's simply impossible to list them all. But this is the one that gave me the best laughs of the day:
Quote:

Instead of pepper spray, you pack a glass bottle and scream "Aiya Earendil Elenion Ancalima!!!" at muggers.
Superb, Mornie Alantie!

Sophia the Thunder Mistress 03-20-2003 01:21 AM

I saw one today, wicked long, but soooo funny...
Quote:

Day 33 :
Boromir tempted by Ring. So tedious. Cannot be tempted myself, as already have everything I want i.e. perfect hair and a butt like granite.
Have been getting very strange letters from someone calling herself "Stacey" who wants to do obscene things to my elfhood. Fortunately have super-duper elf vision so can run away if I see her coming.
The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Greenleaf.
but I can't remember whose it was... sorry whoever

Eressië Ailin 03-20-2003 04:14 PM

That would be Taliethiel Silverleaf's sig.

And whoever said that they liked my old one, thanks!

Firondoiel 03-21-2003 05:20 PM

Quote:

And whoever said that they liked my old one, thanks!
You're welcome! I like your new one too!

Hirilaelin 03-21-2003 09:36 PM

I liked doug*platypus's old one, at least I think it was his. "BWA HA HA HA!" Ah yes, the joys of maniacal laughter.

The Saucepan Man 03-21-2003 09:38 PM

Given current circumstances, I am very taken with Gralin Musicteeth's new sig:

Quote:

You can bomb the world to pieces, but you can't bomb the world to peace.
Very appropriate. I just hope that, for the sake of the world, it's wrong.

Diamond18 03-22-2003 05:09 PM

I like Kalimac's:

Quote:

"I may be dead - but I'm still pretty."

Eressië Ailin 03-22-2003 09:50 PM

I'M SO MAD RIGHT NOW!!! I just made a seven-page Word document with BDer's sigs, and I just accidently deleted it!!!

So, instead of searching for my fav sigs again, I'll just quote what I put on a different thread:

Quote:

A couple of hours ago, when I was at school, I shouted, for absolutely no reason what so ever, "Spook the spookish spookdom to spook the spooked spookers!!!" Everyone was giving me these weird looks. It's really hard to understand Rynoah's sig. So I had to break it down for them. I also like to quote Helka's, Skippy's, Gorwingel's, Diamond's, and I REALLY like eleanor_niphredil's sig. But here are my favorites (that I can think of right now):

Shy Hobbit

Make Middle-Earth a friendlier place, hug a balrog today!

I like Horse-maiden's new one:

Horse-Maiden of the Shire

If you don't name your sword, how is it supposed to come when you call it?

Sapphire_Flame

I'm not anti-society, society is anti-me.

Brinniel

"The problem with reality is the lack of background music."
-Anonymous

And this has definately got to be my favorite:

Rosseiliantiel

Whatever floats your oyster.

Firondoiel~ Thanks again! And your avatar is great!

gralin musicteeth 03-23-2003 11:54 AM

Hehehe...rainbow bathrobe

Diamond18 03-29-2003 12:56 AM

This is good, it's Silmarien's:

Quote:

I'm not suffering from insanity, I'm enjoying every minute of it.

vanwalossien 03-29-2003 02:56 AM

Quote:

"it's not like I blame you... I just think it's more your fault than mine"
Well said!
Quote:

You can bomb the world to pieces, but you can't bomb the world to peace.
As from now on, this is my motto (along with just a few hundred other, like my own sig for instance).

Diamond18 03-30-2003 03:42 PM

Bill Ferny's latest sig is perfect for him (as a sig should be if it possibly can):

Quote:

I prefer Gillaume d’Férny, connoisseur of fine fruit.
Now all you need, Bill, is an apple avatar.

Also, Vanwalossien's above sig deserves to be preserved for posterity in a permanent post, as it is so prodigiously apropos and pithy:

Quote:

"To err is human, but to foul things up completely requires a computer."
http://www.deephousepage.com/smilies/bangdesk.gif http://www.deephousepage.com/smilies/computermad.gif

(Seriously, I've been having a very bad computer day. Egad. I could whine forever about it. But I won't. Hallelujah.)

Mattius 03-30-2003 03:47 PM

Gee thanks Sophia the Thunder Mistress! I stole my sig off a gypsey's blind monkey! That was, of course, right before I nailed my hand to me desk at school. Ah what a day!

I love and frequently quote Sapphire_Flame's sig.....
Quote:

I'm not anti-society society is anti-me.
I just love that one he he..

BTW msg me if you can't see my avatar i just changed it and can't tell. Thanks!!

I believe that is it.

vanwalossien, so you are the one with that signature. I thought I found it on the Downs but couldn't remember where on the Downs. I love it and so do my co-workers! Unfortunately, we have quite a few problems with the "live-ware".

Silmarien 04-04-2003 09:34 PM

Thanks Diamond
I'm onto my 4th page of BDer's sig's. Well done all.

Brinniel 04-04-2003 10:01 PM

Quote:

Yep, that was it. I liked my old sig; it is something I strongly believe in. But once again the month has passed and I have a new sig.

"it's not like I blame you... I just think it's more your fault than mine"
LoL! I saw a shirt like that one time, "I didn't say it was your fault. I just said I was going to blame you."

Brinniel, I like your new one.

Who had the one, "Roses are red, violets are blue, I'm schitzophrenic and I am too"? That was hilarious.

~*~Orual~*~

Horse-Maiden of the Shire 04-05-2003 12:59 AM

I liked Shy Hobbit's "Make Middle-earth a friendlier place, hug a Balrog today."

GaladrieloftheOlden 04-06-2003 03:20 PM

I love all of them, and quote them constantly. I believe that, very soon, when I quote one, one of my friends will pipe up with "hmm...I think that one was doug*platypus's a while ago.....or was it Estelyn?" for the note, I mean all of my friends except the one who actually goes on the BDs. Eressië Ailin- I love the bit from Les Miserables. And, of course, the rainbow bathrobe!
My current one is a quote my online friend gave me, and a piece from the lyrics ot In Dreams, from Lord of the Rings:
Quote:

When the cold of Winter comes
Starless night will cover day
In the veiling of the sun
We will walk in bitter rain

But in dreams
I can hear your name
And in dreams
We will meet again

When the seas and mountains fall
And we come to end of days
In the dark I hear a call
Calling me there
I will go there
And back again
I don't know why, I really love those lyrics. I couldn't get away with posting in the whole song, though.

I don't talk; I conspire.
I love Horse-Maiden of the Shire's.

Quote:

People will accept your ideas much more readily if you tell them that Benjamin Franklin said it first." -Unknown
And Brinniel's is cool.

Balin999 04-07-2003 01:48 PM

I like this one:
Quote:

Sure you have heard, the one who disappeared. Maybe in a fife's sweet song. Perhaps among the flowers and the trees. Possibly in your dreams. Her voice longs to be heard. Morai, the one who was forgotten.
by Morai. Somehow it really touched me, but then, I'm rather depressive today. But I think this one is very good anyways.

Diamond18 04-07-2003 02:18 PM

I like that one too, but it's been ages since I've seen it... before it was shorter though, I think. Anyway, either way I thought it was beautiful and mysterious.

Silmarien 04-10-2003 11:42 PM

I also like Beruthiel's
Quote:

Don't floccinaucinihilipilificate me because I'm younger than you! (that is a real word!)
(For those who don't know to floccinaucinihilipilificate is to regard something as worthless.)

Beruthiel 04-11-2003 01:58 AM

Thanks Silmarien!
Yours is hilarious! I also like Brinniel's one about background music.
Quote:

If you don't name your sword, how is it supposed to come when you call it?
Hahaha thats a good one Horse Maiden

Eressië Ailin 04-11-2003 03:37 AM

Quote:

Eressië Ailin- I love the bit from Les Miserables.
Thank you! That musical is starting to take control of me. I wish I could quote Thénardier or Mme. Thénardier because their lines are absulutely hilarious! But, their best lines (as great as they are) aren't appropriate for this site. The LoTR and Les Miz sides of me are in a big fight right now. I just changed my backround.

Back on topic, If anyone has seen the Take a Scene From the Movie and go Wild! thread, then they will know what I mean when I say 'Do the wave for Boromir the Disco King! And Èowyn, the Dancing Queen!' That has somehow found its way into many BDer's sigs (including mine).

Thank you soo much GaladrieloftheOlden
I love you for getting those lyrics. I couldve asked sooner, but I forgot.
