If Elrond married Celebrian...

Who did Elros marry?

According to my sources, Elros did not marry. I got this information from the complete Guide to Middle-earth.

But Elros was the ancestor of the Kings of Númenor! He must have married someone, she was probably left nameless (as many women are in Tolkien's works)...Unless he was a free-lovin' fella.

I had always assumed that Vardamir Nolimon was Elros' son, but now i'm not sure. In UT it lists the Kings of Numenor and the first sentence in each description of the kings tells who his father was. Vardamir Nolimon tells his date of birth but does not name his father.

I havn't read anything that specifically states that Elros had no wife, and I don't know of any evidence that shows clearly that Vardamir was not Elros' son.

Vardamir was the son of Elros. In UT; Aldarion and Erendis, there is a family tree showing Elros to be Vardamir's dad, but it doesn't show his wife

Ahhh yes, good job. I forgot about this chart. And we can be sure that it's father/son and not simply king to king because it lists Elros' other children.

YEAH!!!! The mystery is solved! I had just finished UT and was gonna quote my new found knowledge, but y'all beat me to it. Now, to read Lost Tales I!

Thank you very much for your answers. I was worried that I might have missed something when I was looking up the charts and names and I kept on drawing blanks where ever I looked. ^_^
