How many names?

It's pretty simple. All the questions will be like this one: Give 4 names for Aragorn. (You may use "Aragorn" again in your answer if you must.)

Lómelindi 06-19-2002 06:59 PM

(Will the Aragorn-name schtick ever die? )

~ Elessar
~ Thorongil
~ Estel
~ Dúnadan

And don't forget Strider, Hope, and Aragorn.

Luthien_ Tinuviel 06-19-2002 07:04 PM

Estel is the same thing as Hope. I think You're right, but I'm not so sure about Throngil. Go ahead anyway.

Joy 06-19-2002 08:44 PM

Thorongil is correct. It was a name that Aragorn used when he served King Theoden and fought along side of Denethor. That name means "Eagle of the Star."

Varda?
Gilthoniel?
Star Queen?

Melephelwen 06-21-2002 09:21 AM

Varda and Star Queen are right, but not Gilthoniel.

Lindolirian 06-21-2002 03:56 PM

Division: Valar (Aratar)
Pronunciation: varda' elenta'rree
Meaning: Varda means 'sublime' (in the sense of 'high' or 'lofty')
Her title Elentári means 'Star-queen'
Other Names: Elbereth
