The Blessing in the Curse
Hello everyone! If you like what if... games, you might like this :) The way the game works is, a person states a misfortune that happened to someone or something. Then, people guess the good fortune that came out of it. Here's an example:
Curse: Frodo lost a finger The blessing is that Frodo destoryed the ring in the process! Get the idea? I hope so! Well, here's the first question: Curse: Boromir's Death Now what's the Blessing? |
Pippin became a guard of Minas Tirith, and saved Faramir from death?
Close but no. The Faramir part was close though :D
The blessing Faramir let Frodo go
nope
THis is farfetched and i will explain my reasoning
Faramir met Eowyn Faramir was Dentor's son and he thought he died so he tried to burn him Faramir met Eowyn in the houses of healing |
That's not farfected. That's the reasoning you use for a game like this. Your really close with Faramir, but it's not with Eowyn.
And BTW, Faramir wasn't the son of Dentor. It's Denethor. (I'm just joking! Typos happen! Especially to me!) |
Merry he wouldn't have met merry
Nope. think love.
Hmm...thats odd... Faramir+love=eowyn grabs book time to cheat and still get it wrong :D
Faramir met Lorith who brought forth Aragorn with "oh that thwere kings here like the days of old" so Aragorn finally trully accepted kingly responsibility((not that he didnt already have it) |
Faramir finally got his father's love?
NightKnight got it!
Good job it is so obvious now "smacks head" oh well I'll have to try again next time good game i like it
Now that wasn't too hard, was it? :p
Curse: The attack on the elven dwelling at the Havens of Sirion by the sons of Fëanor. What's the blessing? |
Hmm...that's a tricky! I'm gonna have to work on that one :smokin: Better get in the mood.
*******************A couple of hours (aka seconds) later******************** Is the blessing that the simaril came to Earendil? |
A very good guess, and quite close, but not exactly what I had in mind.
How about that the simaril escaped the hands of Maehdros and Maeglin?
Nope. The other question was closer.
Earendil was given the opportunity to become a star?
Close again, but nope. ;)
Elwing escaped what could of been her death?
You were closer with Earendil.
Hmm...uh...Earendil survived to slay Anacalagon?
Nope.
Earendil was able to summon the Valar?
Very good thread Perky
Elros and Elrond were still treated good |
Perks, you got it. If the sons of Fëanor hadn't attacked, Elwing wouldn't have fled and taken the Silmaril to Eärendil, and without he wouldn't have come to Valinor to summon the Valar.
Sweet! Alright! Here's the next one:
Curse: Isildur kept the ring Blessing: ? |
United North and South again?
Nope, but good guess :D
elves regained hope in man as they fought off sauron under aragorn?
Um...but the ring and Aragorn comming to the throne weren't really related, so no :D
Sauron didn't get the Ring?
Actually, if Isildur threw teh ring in Mt.Doom, then most orcs would be mindless, so then maybe Isildurs eldest son survived, and he had a son, then only the eldest line would be king, so then aragorn would never had been king!
nope, and even if he survived, the fate of Eärnur would still be the same with his heirs. Well, no one really knows. It's just a what if. And this is based on fact. So, the answer is wrong. This is something that had a clear impact :D
Fate of Earnur? keep is mind Earnur was on Aldarions line... so Arnor probaly would still be standing... and maybe since with Sauron the Witch-King is gone so Earnur might have a different fate?
Maybe yes, maybe know. If you want to pursue the topic further, why don't you start a thread about it in the books? As for me, I'd like to stick to the yes or no basic the rules suggest :D
very well.. i;ve already gotten to Mr.Opus's bad side, i better not temper him too much...
the lord of the rings was written? :)
good one, paavo! ;)
The hobbits got to be the heroes of ME, they became well-known, that sort of thing?
