What race was Isildur decended from?(was it Men of the West or somthing?)

Aragorn and Arewen are distantly related correct?

Are ents the first born ,or Elves??

1) Isildur was descended from Elros, the first king of Númenor. In turn, Elros was descended from Elu Thingol and Melian, as well as the Fathers of Men.

2) Aragorn is Arwen's sixty-somethingth cousin.

3) Elves are the "firstborn", and were really first. The Ents awoke (allegedly) at the same time (or a tiny bit before). Treebeard is the "oldest being in Middle-earth" only because all the Elves keep getting killed off in wars. Ilúvatar conceived of the Elves before Yavanna conceived of the Ents.

Ahh, you're forgetting Tom Bombadil my friend. He was also the oldest living being. He even said it, but Treebeard said he was the oldest...well there's a thread on who is older already, but just wanted to remind you about Tom. Here's a crazy thought: Tom was once an ent, the first in fact, and he was so lonely that he turned himself into whatever he is now. ha

The world was created before the Children of the Iluvatar came, which makes sense that the Ents came before the Elves.

I always thought Tom was a Maia -- doesn't JRRT say so in one of the books? Tom is the subject of the discussion below:

If you read more of the "Tom Bombadil" threads, you see compelling arguments that Tom wasn't an Ainu.

And I said the "oldest creature" in quotation marks for a reason....

Didnt the elves wake the ents and teach them to speak? I think they existed befor the elves but as dum beings i.e. trees?

Barahir, I did not say, "Ahh, you're forgetting Tom Bombadil my friend. He was also the oldest living being. Tom was once an ent, the first in fact, and he was so lonely that he turned himself into whatever he is now." If youi're going to quote me, you should put the three dots (...) to indicate that you left out part of what I said. I was only joking in case you didn't know. And if you did know and you were joking, then sorry I jumped to conclusions.

I'm sorry if I spelled it wrong.

It is spelled Numenoreans. They were 'higher men'. Read the Silmarillion for further information. It's a great read.
