Hey blame that on the exams and my birthday. I'm not forgetful...wait I think I am or maybe I'm not oh well I forgot wether I was forgetful or not. :(
Ok next question. This is the end. A. We shall die here B. But from it we shall create a new begining C. But such an end we shall make it that it be worthy of rememberance. D. But do not lose hope. |
Is it D, Gandalf to Pippin?
|
Herm...C, maybe? Theoden to Aragorn.
|
Nope, none of them.
|
Need a hint?
|
Its A.
I recognize it... but I don't know who said it. -Eowyn Skywalker |
lets see its C. Aragorn to Theoden
|
A it is. But who to whom?
HINT-Frodo wasn't born when it was spoken.;) |
Thorin, Dwalin, Balin, Fili, Kili, Dori, Nori, Ori, Oin, Gloin, Bifur, Bofur, Bombur, Bilbo, or some combination of the above.
"We are trapped!" they groaned. "This is the end. We shall surely die here."- the dwarves and Bilbo, after Smaug smashed the door and trapped them in the mountain in The Hobbit. |
Thats it your go
|
"Be not hasty...
A. There are enough chips to go around. B. Master Meriadoc C. You'll be letting out your own right names if you're not careful. D. We ask a greater thing than thou knowest. E. Let wisdom guide your course. |
B. Treebeard to Merry.
|
C. Treebeard to Merry
E. Faramir to Frodo |
No, no, and no. Since you have between you guessed all the logical answers except for the right one, I will give you the answer (hope nobody took me seriously about the chips).
It's from the Sil: "But Aule said: 'Be not hasty! We ask a greater thing than thou knowest. Let him have peace yet awhile.'" I know two of those sound like Treebeard should have said them, but I don't believe he ever uses those exact words. He usually addresses Merry as 'Merry', not 'Master Meriadoc'. I'm not sure what correct thread procedure is in a case like this, so I'm posing another question. Whoever can identify and complete the quote from answer C can take the thread. It's not difficult. rutslegolas, please only submit one guess at a time. It makes it more fun for the rest of us! |
The Sil? Ahh, that would explain why the chips answer seemed like the only one left. Would have hilarious if it was.

I don't believe they had potato chips in Middle-earth. Or microchips. Perhaps they were poker chips? Or... buffalo chips.
Your turn, Arvedui. |
Perhaps. Herm, let's have an easy one:
"He is dead... A. It's as I feared. B. As he foresaw C. I shan't ever be able to smoke again without thinking of him. D. But not forgotten. E. Ohohoh, look who know's so much. Turns out your friend here is only mostly dead. With mostly dead, you're still a little bit alive. |
The correct answer is C.
It is Merry, in regards to King Theoden's death, after he wakes up in the House of Healing, and asks Aragorn, Gandalf, and Pippin for a smoke. And Pippin says: Smoke then, and think of him. Or something like that. Anyhow. the game is to name the quoter and the finished quote. There. Is it right? Thanks, Eowyn SKywalker |
I forgot this place existed.
I'm not sure. No books handy to check. But If i remmeber correct it was Eowyn to Eomer. He is dead as he foresaw. |
Good try, Eowyn Skywalker. C was the trap answer. Merry says a little bit before he declars not to smoke. Sleepy is right. Your go, Mr. Ranger. :)
|
"And there is a great deal too,"
A. If you'd like some. B. That we want to know about you. C. But that is not enough. D. A bit too great for some. E. But not great enough for me. |
B. that we want to know about you.
Merry to Legolas. |
Mari, you're getting fast. Almost as fast as me.;)
|
I'm working on it...;)
Shut the doors of the fortress and... A. let them come! B. stay inside. C. light the candles. D. go not abroad. E. wait till morning is nigh. |
D
Gelmir and Arminas to The King of Nargothrond at that time. That was the time Turin was around so the King was Orodreth. |
Yep, that's the one.
|

|
That wouldn't do at all
A. I said soon not instantly B. There must be some other path. C. You must do something else. D. We need a new plan. |
