Who might have said:

&quot;Thror, I implore you, don't do it. No price is worth it.&quot;

and under what circumstances?

Re: Another possible quote...

The circumstances were likely those that Thrór was planning to go back to Moria. The price (the Balrog, and the orcs) was not worth the benefit (mithril).
But who might have said it?
His father, Daín I, was no longer alive, as was his brother Frór. So I guess it would have been his brother Grór (Nár wouldn´t have said something like this, after all, he did go with Thrór).

You have the circumstances exactly right, but you are mistaken as to the speaker I intend. Scratch your head and think back.

Omigosh, Nár hesitated at the door of Moria, and he tried to keep Thrór from entering this orc-dungeon, so, there he might have said it.

Indeed, and there the orcs threw to Nar Thror's severed head and a bag of were-gild. (For bonus points: something was written on Thror's head, but I have forgotten. What?)

An easy one:

Who, to whom, and one possible circumstance?

Hmmm, the Steward of Gondor who granted Saruman to dwell in Orthanc was Beren, so he could possibly said this as a reply to Saruman´s request. Curunír was still a protecor and west-guard against the Dunlendings back then.

Sounds like what the widower Sam Gamgee would've said to his daughter Elanor when he gave her the Red Book of Westmarch. This in sight of the Tower Hills before he went to the Havens and passed over the sea.

Is that elvish or dwarvish tongue? Of so, then it was either Gimli or Legolas. I would guess Elvish first.

I don't know who said it, but it is definitely the speech of the Riddermark (Rohan).

I´d guess Èomer. It could probably mean sth like &quot;Hail and farewell, Théoden!&quot;; &quot;hal&quot; remindes me of &quot;hail&quot; and &quot;ferthu&quot; could have the stem &quot;fer, far&quot; like German &quot;fahren&quot; (pass, drive, travel), English &quot;far&quot; and &quot;fare&quot;, Icelandic &quot;fara&quot; (pass).
Could Èomer be too obvious? Maybe...

Yes, you've about translated it. It is the speech of Ridderark and it is something like Hail Theoden on your going. I'd have credited almost any answer with a Rohhirish speaker and a suitable context. (Anyway, I forgot to ask for context, but you guys were impressive). So Sharku, ask us!

Who could have said (it´s a dialogue):

- &quot;Naw, that shiny guy´s nasty with that sword he has. There, hit his leg!&quot;
- &quot;And another time! Crush him, crush him!&quot;

Random Orc and Various Goblin (or Balrogs or easterlings or something) talking about Dagor Bragollach. The shiny guy is Fingolfin. In the end Fingolfin cut off Morgoth Bauglir's foot Then Morgoth smashed him to bits. Then Thorondor King of Eagles took flight from the peaks of Crissaegrim and marred the face of the Dark Lord and bore up the body of the King of the Noldor.

What's a burrahobbit got to do with my pocket, anyways?</p>
