Connections

this game is really easy to understand
you write two names down and you have to give a connection from book OR movieit can be differences, silmarities, anything that they have in common! If they still don't get it, then narrow it down more

Legolas -- rode without saddel on -- arod -- from rohan ?

Theron Bugtussle 12-03-2003 08:55 PM

Perhaps a clarification of the rules would be in order?

Gil-Galad 12-04-2003 08:10 AM

Telchar has it!!!

Telchar 12-04-2003 08:34 AM

OK - I'll start with a simpel one to give this game a chance.

Gandalf --> X <--Turgon

And on a sidenote to all of you, but mostely to Gil-galad: The question before was ridiculous! There can be a great deal of connections between Legolas and Rohan*. I belive it would be a good idea, to try to post questions that has an answer, opposed to posting questions where you want those answering to guess what you think the answer is (or want it to be).

* Some possible connections between Legolas and Rohan:

He were in Rohan
He fought for Rohan
He rode a horse from Rohan
He made friends in Rohan
He met the king of Rohan
etc . etc. ... there a ALOT.

The fact that he rode without saddel is NOT a connection between him and Rohan but a connection between him and horses in general.

Similar would be to ask what the connecton between Frodo and Gandalf was, and then keep people guessing until they found out that you wanted someone to guess that: They both liked watching Bilbo blowing smokerings in hiss garden...

... sorry I had to get that out!

well.. i was about to change my rules to that if people don't get it, try too narrow it down more specifically, and for your question

Gandalf and Turgon both used the same sword, Glamdring

Except that Gil-Galad asked for a connection between Legolas and a horse of Rohan.

It is quite often the case, in many of the games here, that there are a number of possible answers to a question.

There are a number of possible connections between Gandalf and Turgon too, such as they both ended up in Valinor or they both benefitted from the service of Eagles.

Although I suspect that Gil-Galad has the correct answer.

Gil-Galad 12-05-2003 04:40 PM

thanks for backing me up... kinda...i am in your debt, Sacuepan...

Sorry, I'll just have to remind you Saucepan Man that Gil-galad have edited his question post twice, first the day after the original question was posted and then again 3 days after that.
The original question was af far as I remember it: Legolas -> Rohan.
Im sorry for not noticing that - I usually dont reread the whole thread every time I enter it.

Secondly, alot of people ended up in Valinor and alot of people had servitude of the eagles, and though they both are valid connections between G and T, then only two people carried Glamdring - which of course is why Gil-galad is correct, and can continue.

Cheers T

Gil-Galad 12-06-2003 11:25 AM

for your information Telchar, the two edits you see were me adding on to the rules, i started with Legolas-------------------------------Horse of Rohan
