Creature Quotes

I don't think this has been done but admittedly I didn't check every previous thread.

The idea is that the quotes used have to have been said by a creature - whether that be an animal (e.g an eagle) or something simply not from hobbit, human, elvish or dwarvish races (e.g goblins or orcs).

So the quote:
"Now we see you you nasty little creature"
Would be the spiders to Bilbo in The Hobbit.

An easy one to start off then:
Quote:

"There's something mighty queer behind this."

Firefoot 05-02-2005 10:06 AM

The fox in the Shire to himself, about hobbits sleeping out-of-doors.

Kath 05-02-2005 12:01 PM

Of course, go ahead.

Firefoot 05-02-2005 01:12 PM

Thanks.

Firefoot 05-24-2005 04:44 PM

Think big, evil creatures.

Kath 05-25-2005 07:49 AM

Oh I'm sorry I completely forgot about this! That would be Smaug when talking to Bilbo I should think.

Firefoot 05-25-2005 01:55 PM

Correct!

Kath 05-25-2005 03:59 PM

Ug - no time to think of a good one so:

Quote:

burarum

The Elf-warrior 05-26-2005 12:46 PM

Treebeard.

Kath 05-26-2005 03:51 PM

But of course - go ahead.

The Elf-warrior 05-26-2005 04:35 PM

"The moon is rising."

The Elf-warrior 06-24-2005 05:42 PM

It's from The Hobbit.

Kath 06-25-2005 05:49 AM

Sorry I'm kinda stuck, at a guess maybe Roac?

Arwen Imladris 06-27-2005 12:33 PM

Isn't it just an old thrush? I don't think it has a name. It tells Bard where to shoot the dragon.

The Elf-warrior 06-27-2005 03:47 PM

Arwen Imladris, you're right. It's your turn now.

Arwen Imladris 06-27-2005 04:28 PM

"The North Wind blows, but we shall outfly it,"

Kath 06-28-2005 03:39 AM

I think that's Gwaihir to Gandalf when they go to rescue Frodo and Sam?

Arwen Imladris 06-28-2005 08:14 AM

You thought right! Your turn.

Kath 06-28-2005 11:10 AM

Lucky guess!

Next - ha! oh I'm sorry this just makes me laugh.

Neigh!

Arwen Imladris 07-05-2005 05:16 PM

I dunno. Shadowfax?

Kath 07-06-2005 07:15 AM

But of course! Go ahead.

Arwen Imladris 07-06-2005 01:05 PM

Well, it coulda been Bill or something...

"I was sent to bear tidings not burdens."

empress_han 07-06-2005 03:03 PM

Is it Gwaihir (sp?) to Gandalf before Gandalf asks for a steed on land?

Arwen Imladris 07-07-2005 01:32 PM

Yup! Your turn.

LadyLúthien 09-04-2005 10:29 PM

I have a feeling empress isn't going to post a new question... :(

Kath 09-05-2005 09:16 AM

Uh no she won't be posting a question I'm afraid. She's having difficulty getting online so anyone who wants can take it!

LadyLúthien 09-05-2005 04:03 PM

Okay, who or what said
Quote:

Hail, Nienor, daughter of Húrin. We meet again ere the end.

Firefoot 09-05-2005 04:09 PM

Glaurung, to Nienor.

LadyLúthien 09-05-2005 07:02 PM

Yep, Firefoot, your turn! :)

Firefoot 09-05-2005 07:44 PM

:)

Firefoot 09-05-2005 09:28 PM

Correct, of course.

Nilpaurion Felagund 09-05-2005 10:00 PM

Thanks!

Is Tom Bombadil a creature?

*groan*

OK, never mind . . .
All else is dark to me; yet . . . we may meet before the end.

Hiriel 09-05-2005 11:48 PM

That would be Huan, I think.

Nilpaurion Felagund 09-06-2005 03:26 AM

Precisément.

Your turn. :)

Hiriel 09-07-2005 09:22 PM

Ok then.

Elianna 09-08-2005 02:02 PM

Smaug to Bilbo?

Hiriel 09-08-2005 02:24 PM

That's it exactly. Your go. :)

Nilpaurion Felagund 09-14-2005 08:07 PM

*poke*
