only LOTR cause i haven't read the other ones

here you can post quotes from LOTR. it's a bit easier cause i haven't read the hobbit or the other ones. whoever gets it right keeps going. i'll start.

"I don't keep water in my pockets"

who said it, to whom did they say it, and (for a bonus point)where were they?

hobbitlass 10-15-2002 04:28 AM

Frodo said it to Merry Sam and Pippin. They were at *oh dear I forgot, runs to grab book* the beginning of the travel. I think they were still in the Shire...*still flipping pages* okay I found it. Merry was not there. they Had just started traveling and where still in the Shire.

hobbitlass 10-15-2002 12:01 PM

Ringwraith Number Two 10-15-2002 01:44 PM

Was it Samwise Gamgee to Bill Ferny as the party left Bree?

hobbitlass 10-16-2002 03:58 PM

Thaaaat's it, Mr. Ringwraith #2... And for answering correctly, you get your choice of: a dip in the beeeeautiful Ford of Bruinen

TolkienGurl 11-01-2002 03:09 PM

Yup! Frodo to Bilbo when Bilbo asks him if he wants to guess which parts of the song were the Dúnedan's, and which were his own.

You may go, Beren87!

Was it someone, to Merry in when he was camping somewhere....with Theoden....and someone wakes him up or something....I know this is very hazy...Am I anywhere near close? Probobly not....ah well

TolkienGurl 11-02-2002 07:23 PM

I believe Merry says it to Pippin in Minas Tirith after Theoden died and he got stabbed by the Morgul King and was greviously injured, therefore talking nonsense to Pippin when he found him. Merry had taken a wrong turn and was wandering aimlessly.

gralin musicteeth 11-03-2002 11:19 AM

nope it's not Merry.
