1) Our time here is ending (Elrond to Aragorn)

2)...and smote his ruin upon the mountainside. (Gandalf voice-over/flashback to Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli.)

3) The old world will burn in the fires of industry. (Saruman voice-over to Sauron.)

Goldberry 02-22-2003 11:58 AM

Yup! you got 'em, Firondoiel and Aerandir Carnesir!

Aerandir Carnesir 02-22-2003 12:15 PM

I've got some if Firondoiel doesn't want to go. Can I go? I'll go.

1) "Their _____ _______. They have ______ __ our _____. _____!"

2)"I'm ______ on _____-_______. We _______ are natural _________. Very _________ we are over _____ _________."

3)"_______ the free ___ again my ______."

Goldberry 02-22-2003 12:49 PM

#3 is Gandalf saying to Theoden, "Breathe the free air again, my friend." Right? lol, I was thinking of using that one

Finnguala 02-22-2003 01:18 PM

Yaa! I know this one!! At least... most of it...

It's Gimli, when he, Aragorn and Legolas are following the group of Uruk-hai.

2)"I'm ______ on _____-_______. We Dwarves are natural sprinters. Very dangerous we are over short distance."

Well, some one else may finish it... again...

Aerandir Carnesir 02-22-2003 02:17 PM

Yes, #3 is right, and #2 is really close.

Goldberry 02-22-2003 02:39 PM

oooh i think i got it! Gimli saying: "I am wasted on cross-country! We dwarves are natural sprinters! Very dangerous over short distances!"

Goldberry 02-22-2003 02:43 PM

I'm not sure, but is #1 something like, "Their pace has quickened. They have picked up our scent. Hurry!" said by Aragorn?

Rochelle 02-22-2003 02:55 PM

1) "Their pace quickens. They must have caught our scent. Hurry!"

{said to Legolas and Gimli by Aragorn}

2)"I'm wasted on cross-country. We dwarves are natural sprinters. Very dangerous we are over short distances."

{Said by Gimli}

3)"Breathe the free air again my friend."

{Said by Gandalf to Theoden}

Perfect! You're all right. I don't know who should go next, so someone just go!

Rochelle 02-22-2003 05:45 PM

I guess I'll put one up:

_____ was ______ in ______. His ______ will find ______ _______ to the ______ of _____ _______.

____ _____ is an _____ ______.
Anyone know who spoke these words?

Dondagnirion 02-22-2003 11:25 PM

I know that the first one was Gandalf to Theoden at Theodred's grave. Goes like this.
"He was strong in life. His spirit will find the way to the halls of his fathers."

"There is no spoon."

Arvedui III 02-23-2003 05:13 PM

I feel like a weasle , but anyway...
"He was strong in life. His spirt will find
it's way to the halls of your fathers."
Gandalf to Theoden.

Rochelle 02-23-2003 06:06 PM

Well you've gotten number two!

Arvedui III 02-23-2003 07:24 PM

Can I go then?

Rochelle 02-23-2003 07:35 PM

*lol* WHoops I meant to say you got number one....number two has yet to be solved.

Need any hints?

Firondoiel 02-25-2003 09:34 PM

Yes! PLEASE give us a hint!!!

Rochelle 02-25-2003 10:40 PM

Two of the words are the same...and it is spoken by a betrayer...

If that is of no help I will give more!

Dondagnirion 02-25-2003 10:52 PM

Well I know Wormtongue said it, and I know he was speaking to Gandalf about how he never brought aid or somesuch, but I have not seen the movie in so long I cannot remember the exact lines.

"There is no spoon."

Rochelle 02-25-2003 11:00 PM

You are definatly thinking of the line...and I will let you have it *Lol* The quote is:

"Ill news is an ill guest" and it is spoken by Grima to Gandalf...

Whoever wants to post next may!

Arvedui III 02-26-2003 05:49 PM

Cool. I'll go. (The weasle feeling is coming back again, ahh)

1( "___ the _____ of the ______ ______ ___"

2( "And we _____ ___ _______ in ___ _______ that ____ _____ ______ a long ____ to ___"

Goldberry 02-26-2003 06:25 PM

hmmm. . . I'm not quite sure about #2, but I think it is Treebeard talking to Pippin and Merry about Old Entish.

Arvedui III 02-26-2003 07:05 PM

Haelothiel 02-26-2003 08:12 PM

And we don't say anything in Old Entish that isn't worth taking a long time to say. Is that it?

[ February 26, 2003: Message edited by: Haelothiel ]

EressiŽ Ailin 02-26-2003 10:08 PM

I know the first one!!!! It's the spirit of Arwen saying to Aragorn, "May the grace of the Valar protect you."

EressiŽ Ailin 02-26-2003 10:49 PM

BTW, I'm not entirely sure that you got the second quote right, Arvedui. I checked TTT script, and it said, "and we never say anything unless it is worth taking a long time to say." This seems to be what you are talking about, yet it does not match the blanks. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Arvedui III 02-27-2003 06:53 AM

That would make sense because I can't spell If I got something wrong with the blanks I'm really sorry. Anyway...
Yep, whoever wrote # 1 and #2, they got 'em right. Anyone that wants to go can.

EressiŽ Ailin 02-27-2003 08:14 AM

I don't have any good ones right now. Do you want to go, Haelothiel?

Haelothiel 02-28-2003 05:30 PM

I don't have any either, EressiŽ Ailin. If neither of us have any maybe someone else should?

EressiŽ Ailin 02-28-2003 10:53 PM

I have one now!! Two, actually.

____ are _______ ______ ______ our _____.

I _____ ___ ___ your ____, _____, __ it _____ ___ a ______ ______ ____ the ______.
Tell me if you need a hint.

Firondoiel 03-01-2003 04:26 PM

I have the second!

"I would cut off your head, Dwarf, if it stood but a little higher from the ground."

Eomer said it to Gimli.

EressiŽ Ailin 03-01-2003 04:36 PM

You got it! Does anyone know the first one? I took out all of the words that would give it away.

Firondoiel 03-01-2003 05:07 PM

Great! I got the 2 one!!! Could you give me a teeny-weeny hint on #1? Please??

*Firondoiel gives puppy dog eyes*

EressiŽ Ailin 03-01-2003 06:27 PM

#1 is hard, isn't it?

Ok, a hint...

The quote itself isn't in the book, but the response is, and it is well known.

Rochelle 03-06-2003 04:02 PM

No clue on the first...too many words were left out *lol* Another hint perhaps? Or someone else post up a quote

Arvedui III 03-06-2003 06:48 PM

I've already firmly estabished myself as a weasle , so if no one get's the answer I'll post something. But before I preform my weasle deed, another hint, perhaps?

Rochelle 03-06-2003 07:11 PM

After a bit more thought (I had some time today *lol*) I think I found it...

"Orcs are roaming freely across our lands."

EressiŽ Ailin 03-06-2003 07:23 PM

Yay!!!! You got it, Rochelle!!

Alrighty here goes...

____ now have ____ to _____ _____ who _______ ______

______ have _________ for ______ ______ many _________.

EressiŽ Ailin 03-06-2003 08:01 PM

I know the first one!!!

We now have only to remove those who oppose us.
Saruman said that one.

Not sure about the second one, though...
