Double Identity
 

Just thinking about posting on other forums. While to the world of Tolkien fans out there I am Iarwain, to the world of Myst fans I am Ri'Neref. I'm wondering what everyone else does with posting on other forum and nicknames.

Iarwain

I have a variety of names, mostly Lotr.

For anyone who checks out the BD fanfiction page, Bug Ugly Elf is not only my pen name but a name I use as a forum name. I think Bug is the most commonly known of all my names.

I usually pretty much stick to Arwen Imladris, or like, Arwen_Imladris, it is just easier to remember that way, and I need all the help I can to remember things! [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]

Well, in most places I'm Maika, even in the real world (Yup! You heard me! I've gotten used to it.)
At Mordor I'm Melkor's Mistress [img]smilies/tongue.gif[/img], on another forum I'm the Lady Despair and on yet another I'm Maglor.

And many more that I visit, I love seeing all the sites grow and improve and I also get ideas on how to improve my own site.

I regularly see people from other sites it is amazing how we all get around.

So many aliases (somehow that sounds like the wrong plural)! Before Iarwain, I used to use Gorthaur for general usage, and before that it was Olorin. In fact, it's funny because I've had basically the same template for all of my AIM accounts ever since AIM became popular. I like to use backgroundish characters most of the time. Iarwain is really my ideal name from Tolkien, I love it so much...

I've got quite a few names, but most of them have come out of use a while ago (eg *shudder* Modern_Evenstar, Squirrel_The_Great...) but most of the ones I still use are similar to the one I have here. On Tolkien sites I use GaladrieloftheOlden, GaladrielOlden, or Menelien, and on Matrix sites I use Menelien. Also SquirrelGirl pops up occasionally, and The Elvish Bostonian... Edit: Also, sometimes take up different names n the BDs chat... generally 'm just GaladrelOlden or GOTO, but sometmes 'm Trnty the Second (but n numerals) or MatrxHasYou. ( apologze somethng's wth my eyboard and some of the letters and punctuaton aren't worng and haven't just gone chatese all of a sudden. Gac ths loos very chatese [img]smilies/mad.gif[/img] )

Edit: And my RPG names are Evren, Cersed, Oghurn, Herevion, and Herlion (except that I have three Herlions... [img]smilies/rolleyes.gif[/img] ) (And looking over the last edit, it looks very funny cause of what was happening to my keyboard... so I guess I won't change it.)

Although I've come clean with my secret identity here [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img], my love for the caped crusader has me as Darkknightdetective on the Grey Labyrinth's forum and Detective218 on pogo.com. On warofthering.net I take up my elfin name of Erundil.
I think that's all of them... not a huge forum guy outside of the Downs.

Yes fin I can see that. Anyway Mine are simple. BD Annalaliath, another thing is wither Annalaliath or Myrddin. Myrddin is older and I can't remember half the passwords for them any more. Oh yes and elffreak is another one of my favorites; but I can't forget elffreaky! And in real life I am know by a whole bunch of names, Rose, Rosey, Child, hey you!, Morgan, Mary, and so on.

Well, that would be telling! I'm known to a few members on this forum as different things, from about four or five different places, but to say what my names are would be pointless- it spoils it.

I usually use the Sindarin translation of my real name, Hiriel, on other sites I join (three guesses what my real name is! Old Norse translation of Sindarin Hir- [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img]). When I joined BD I used the name generator to create a nickname, as I didn't know any Elvish then. I don't think I know more than two BD'ers from other sites, but then again there's only one forum in my life [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img] .

I'm Thallianuwen on the Council of Elrond, though I haven't been posting there for quite a while.

There's a Myst board? I'm really a Riven fan, but I need catching up on what I know (and my brother hasn't even budged from page 68 of the novelized version since January!)

I am The X Phial here, on the chat, and in various other non-Tolkien places around the web. The only other name I go by is Ballad, which I use on the Megatokyo forum, and sometimes in chat.

Well, due to lack of time, I only belong to one other forum besides this one. That would be the Terry Brooks forum where I'm known as Rhye Ohmsford. But honestly, I have found that forum rather uninteresting and not as well set up compared to this one and I rarely visit it except to check up on the upcoming books.

RPG identities: Calentoliel, Raye/Corrowyn, Desolyn, and more to come.

Lately I've mostly been known as Sophia with various attatchments to the end, "the Thunder Mistress" being my favorite. But on other sites I am occasionally known as "Vilyamir" or "SolaGratia". On Chat I am often "Raindrop" (currently on MSN as well).

In the past I've been known as "ShrubberyAngel", "Brinshee" and "BrynneShelley".

Hirilaelin was the name I chose for the Barrowdowns, the one I made up, before I was given the true elvish translation of my name, Eruanne, which I use in all other forums. And in the Barrowdowns chat, Crimson_Rose is only one of many aliases.

I go by Cúdae (sometimes without the accented u) pretty much everywhere I go- fanfiction.net, the Hidden-Archives, or the Miss Saigon forum. Except at one site I'm elf-arrow and in a certain yahoo group I go by my actual name.

The only name I really use is Lëowen (with or without the accent). I was Nuinatariel here for awhile, but I changed it when I found out what the translation was. I'm also Lominiel on the Elrond's Guestbook Yahoo group, but I don't post there often.
