Is this Bill the pony?

Manardariel 01-26-2003 10:17 AM

Fatty Boldger!!

A small one I am- a hobbit, duh
and yet only one way- because heīs FAT
A friend of Sams- easy
I helped some get away
I led the rebels till- rebels against Sharkey
nearly the end of my day
Imprisoned I was-
But with help I got away

Ultimatejoe 01-26-2003 02:03 PM

Nice...

Beren87 01-26-2003 02:56 PM

Bill the pony! my, that was humerous, I truly did laugh.

But, Fatty Bolger is correct.

Manardariel 01-26-2003 03:04 PM

Ok, hereīs mine........

Powerfull and full of grace
a child loved by many

Aratlithiel 01-26-2003 03:53 PM

Ummm...that could be a ton of people. Could you narrow it down a little?

Manardariel 01-26-2003 04:17 PM

Actually it couldnīt be. But fine.

Beautiful and full of grace
a child loved by many
most blessed of all in Arda
most powerfull in song

Beren87 01-26-2003 04:36 PM

Manardariel 01-26-2003 05:44 PM

Luthien, Arwen, Maeglin, Finrod, Fingolfin, Gil-Galad, Galadriel, Finduilas, Elrond, Elros, Maedros (or Maglor, I always get them mixed up...) Legolas (by contemporary tastes) Aragorn II, just about every elf who didn't "wake up."

Looking for a smilie icon sticking out it's tongue so I can send a raspberry to Manardariel. Darn! Couldn't find one! LOL.

Beren87 01-26-2003 11:43 PM

Good lord I was right!

Ah, i have no time as I'm studying for finals.

I give it out to whoever wants to ask one!

Manardariel 01-27-2003 01:32 PM

Oh, fine, you guys have me!!
*throws hands up*

One of you 2 can go.

Beren87 01-27-2003 01:56 PM

Ah, I do so love snow days

My family escaped one ruin
only to live in another
Many around feared me
for I was the lady, no other
By one I was hurt
even as I try
I could not go out
Now I say goodbye.

I officially hate this topic

Manardariel 01-27-2003 02:32 PM

Galadriel or Ninior (sp?)?

Beren87 01-27-2003 02:38 PM

Nope, its not Galadriel.

That's quite the rhyme there... Celebrian is the only name that comes to mind. But nobody feared her. Idril is my only other guess.

Ardwenna 01-29-2003 10:54 AM

Could it be Eowyn?

Manardariel 01-29-2003 10:54 AM

Itīs not Eowyn...or is it? Wait, that could be... or maybe Nineor, Daughter of Morwen&Hurin?

Manardariel 01-29-2003 10:56 AM

Grinns!
Not only POSING at the same time, even THINKING the same thing.....

Ardwenna 01-29-2003 12:58 PM

Well you know what they say about great minds thinking alike.

Beren87 01-29-2003 01:00 PM

Still all incorrect. Tricksssssy I am....

Lyra Greenleaf 01-29-2003 02:01 PM

Haleth?

Beren87 01-29-2003 02:38 PM

Nope, not it. I'll give a hint, the character appears in LotR.

Pallando B.C 01-29-2003 06:07 PM

Arwen?

Russandol 01-29-2003 07:20 PM

Wild stab in the dark {no pun intended]

Shelob?

Beren87 01-30-2003 04:30 PM

Shelob it is!

Russandol 02-01-2003 04:56 PM

This poetry lark is hard work!

How about a haiku instead?

I stand by my friends
Laughter is my herald
Better late than never.

Too easy!

Beren87 02-01-2003 10:32 PM

Tulkas?

That wasn't a true Haiku by the way, 6 syllables in the second and third lines (Depending on how its read one could say however).

elven maiden Earwen 02-01-2003 11:42 PM

gandalf

Ultimatejoe 02-01-2003 11:56 PM

Beren has it I think.

Haiku can be broken down by syllables as 5, 7, 5. Traditionally they are almost exclusively imagery poems, usually pertaining to nature.

Russandol 02-02-2003 07:40 AM

I was less rigid to the Japanese structure and only adhered to the 17 syllable rule. It's hard enough to come up verse in this thread as it is!

But Beren has it with Tulkas.

Beren87 02-02-2003 02:07 PM

I most defenitly agree Russandol.

Oh dear, my turn again...I'm beginning to hate this game.

An ambassador to view beauty
I was sent back to lead
But there I fell in love
and then that girl I wed
So I founded a kingdom
and ruled a bunch of elves
for this they changed my name
I also made some Dwarves delve

There you go!

lathspell 02-02-2003 02:39 PM

Thingol, I supppose... or should we call him Elwe Singollo.

Beren87 02-02-2003 05:59 PM

That would be him!

lathspell 02-03-2003 05:21 AM

Great!

Twice escaped; it was her
that I helped wherever she went.
I was faithful to my master,
yet I forsook him in the end.

Good luck.
lathspell

the real findorfin 02-03-2003 05:23 AM

Huan??

lathspell 02-03-2003 08:20 AM

Very good, Findorfin!

Proceed

Ultimatejoe 02-03-2003 09:46 AM

Do we have to do this in rhyming form?

Beren87 02-03-2003 03:49 PM

As long as its prose, I don't think so.
