Elvish Insults!
1. I am sorry if this topic has already been done
2. I know it should probably go in the language section but I wasn't sure if it would insult anyone there so I thought it best to post here. Anyone know any good elvish insults that you can shout at your boss or teachers without them knowing what the hell your on about? Here are some: Nadorhuan(rim)= cowardly dog(s) Auta miqula orqu= go kiss an orc Amin delotha lle= I hate you Antolle ulua sulrim= Much wind pours from your mouth Lle naa haran e' nausalle= you are king in your imagination Amin feuya ten' lle= You disgust me Lle holma ve' edan= you smell like a human (oooo, harsh ) Llie n'vanima ar' lle atara lanneina= You're ugly and your mother dresses you funny |
Oh harsh! Lol! Never mind insulting - you could do more damage by making people laugh to death! They are funny! Which elven language is it? Quenya?
|
In the language I made up, "Go kiss an Orc" is "Ja kass eni jhana"
|
Cool, you made up a language - with insults!

|
Hummm I guess they came from the Grey Company maybe you should look on other similar sites for more?

I think their Quenya because I have a quenya translations sheet thing and those insults are in there.
|
How do you say "You idiot!"?

What would be the point of having a made up language if there weren't insults, Starbreeze?
|
How do you say:
"Your mother was a hamster, and your father smelled of eldeberries!" |
Once again, the Grey Company... This website does not use true Tolkien Elvish. It is based on it but is not the languages created by Tolkien. But then again, if you want to use them, the person you are insulting probably won;t know the difference. Just remember, it is Tolkien based, not Tolkien.
|
Uruloki, these are so funny! I gotta memorize a few now..
|
lol these are so funny

Thanks all for liking them!
Yes they are Quenya based and I understand that they aren't true Tolkien but I thought they were fun E! I'll try to get some more for ya! |
Well, if you want some true ELvish... it ain't what I call a proper insult, but... Gurth goth rim yrch! Means, death to you Orc! And this is true Tolkien elvish.
|
Try this one on for size:
Lya amil i a Yrch ar lya atar i a Troll! (I don't know what Troll is in Sindar or Quenya.) Your mother is a Orc and your father is a Troll! |
Oi, this was MY thread! *scowls*
No, no, just kidding! Fooled ya. |
How about something like "Your hair is sooooo lame" or "That robe makes you look fat." or *gasp* "Your nail polish is tacky"
Hee hee hee. Girly elves. |
Lol! Those are soo funny! Here's another one I always tell my sister
polle naa lost - your head is empty thoug i think it's just tolkien based quenya. Quote:

I insulted a girl who was making fun of me at a bookstore for liking Tolkien stuff.
Amilelya fummë nu rauco. "Your mother slept under a monster." The funny thing was, this Elrond-lookalike who was standing right next to me burst out laughing because he understood Quenya, which bewildered the poor girl even more. |
That was sooo funny finwe! an elrond lookalike knowng quenya - cool!
|
The great part was he also asked me out. Unfortunately, my parents did the exact same thing that Elrond did when he found out about Aragorn and Arwen. Mine claimed that the guy could be a serial killer in disguise and that I was too young to date. So, I resorted to screaming "Narelyë raucor!" at them repeatedly.
|
These(sorry...THIS) are probably FULLLL of mistakes, but hey, I just started Quenya.
Fat person(especially girls)- Mordor tiuca Nauco rauco. Evil fat Dwarf demon/monster. |
i thought monster was ulundo?
|
From what I've seen, guy who be short, most of these are Grey-Elvish expressions. Now, as we all know, Grey-Elvish is based loosely on Tolkien's language, but they are not actually the words of Tolkien. After consulting the Council of Elrond dictionary, "evil" in Quenya is: úmëa, ulca, saura (which refers more to being evil-smelling, or putrid). In Sindarin, it is: um, balch, and gûl (which is evil magic). An evil creature is "raug". Ooo! They have Noldorin now on the Council of Elrond. An evil creature is a "rhaug" or a "graug". In order to say "You are evil" in Sindarin, one could probably simply say "Le úmëa", as they tend not to use the verb "to be" much (similar to Russian in that regard, I suppose).
EDIT: and yes, "ulundo" means monster, as does "úvanimo", which means, literally, "a creature of Melkor". In Sindarin, it's "úan" or "ulunn". "Ulun" and "ulund" mean "monster" in Noldorin. [ May 29, 2003: Message edited by: VanimaEdhel ] |
Hmm... I don't think elvish is that much of a good language to insult people in... However when my sisters get on my nerves I love to confuse them and insult them in one blow:
Thaur rakuo abominable demon. (I can't be bothered to get my elvish dic. out and check the spellings... sorry! |
There are several different words for "monster." Both ulundo and rauco mean the same thing.
|
For those of you who are interested here is how you say "You're ugly and your mother dresses you funny" in real, Tolkien Sindarin:
"Le uanui a lin naneth hab le gladhaen." The i in "lin" and the a in "hab" both have circumflexes over them. (circumflex=> ^ ) I hope you all can find this information useful. |
Uruloki, did you get those insults from Grey Company??
They're very funny! |
I am not sure on the spelling but Losto'l means Empty Head .
|
In Sindarin or Quenyan? Because in Sindarin, Losto means "sleep".
|
Well, "dol" means head and "lost" means "empty". The "d" sound would probably be lost due to the many consonant mutations in Elvish. So yes, Lostol would mean "empty head".
Oh, and that's Sindarin. [ May 31, 2003: Message edited by: VanimaEdhel ] |
Thanks VanimaEdhel, I dont know alot of elvish. Bu I had just heard that from a friend of mine who knows alot, and likes to insult me in elvish. So I thought I should put that on up here.
|
I'm not sure if this is grammatically correct, but:
Lle harya i sáma o gond- (translated literally) you possess the mind of stone. |
LOL!!!
Tomorrow I'm gonna run around school yelling Elvish insults at everyone I don't like. Hehe...Find some more! |
