Fill in the Blank
In this game, a quote or exerpt from the book is posted with some of the words missing. The next person has to 'fill in the blanks' with all the correct words, and then continue the thread.
This is from FOTR (you don't have to give a hint if you don't want to) Quote:

Suddenly Gandalf laughed. 'Come inside!' he shouted, and putting out both
his arms he lifted the astonished Sam, shears, grass-clippings and all, right through the window and stood him on the floor. [ November 05, 2002: Message edited by: Beren87 ] |
Do we have to wait for confirmation that we are correct to continue?
|
If you are absolutely sure it's right, then you can go. Unless the person specifies, of course.

OK, since no one is responding, maybe that's a little hard. I'll fill in some:
'I thought I was ______,' said ______;'but I don't want to _______ of it. Let us ______ of what we are to ____ now! Let us ____on!' |
'I thought I was dead,' said Frodo;'but I don't want to talk of it. Let us talk of what we are to do now! Let us go on!'
Just a guess, really. |

'I thought that I was lost,' said Frodo; 'but I don't want to speak of it. Let us think of what we are to do now! Let us go on!' Chapter VIII 'The Barrow-downs'
Here's the next one: Quote:

The hoofs drew nearer. They had no time to find any hiding-place better than the general darkness under the trees; Sam and Pippin crouched behind a large tree-bole, while Frodo crept back a few yards towards the lane. FotR ch3 Three is company.

OK. I don't think this is very difficult, but I like the passage very much. Quote:
|
"Here is the heart of Elvendom on earth," he sais, "and here my heart dwells ever, unless there be a light beyondthe dark roads that we still must tread, you and I. Come with me!" And taking Frodo's hand in his, he left the hill of Cerin Amroth and came there never again as living man.

"You do not ask me or tell me much that concerns yourself, Frodo," said Gildor.
Is that it ? (I`ll have to ponder on a new quote first...) |
OK, I`ve found something. I hope it`s neither too easy nor too difficult.
"----, you know all my ------, and long held in ------- the only --------that I seek." |
I`ll fill in one more word to make it easier. (Clue: it`s from FotR)
"Lady, you know all my ------, and long held in ------ the only -------- that I seek" |
"Lady, you know all my heart desire, and long held in keeping the only treasure that I seek." -Aragorn to Galadriel.
