Hint Me Here!

Hi, you all!

Gee, this is the first thread I am creating. I hope it's no one like this, if that's the case, I feel truly foolish!

Anyway, the game is like this:
Write two or three things- they are to hint about a place, person, creature, weapon, etc. from Middle-earth, and then it's up to you, to guess it.

EX. Small, devoted, gardner.
What, or who is this?

The answer will be of course Sam. It 'fits' the hints, description..

(I really hope it made sense.... )

Okey, we'll start with this, the hints are:

Wise, great, fooled.
(It's easy..)

Good Luck, anyway..

Orofaniel 08-18-2003 08:08 AM

Treebeard it is!!!
You're up!

Novnarwen 08-20-2003 11:38 PM

Okey I changed the game a bit..*puts on an innocent look* In stead of two three words, make it hints. Like, one hint can be two or several words...

Here are the hints:

Above the others, not above all.

(Eeek, couldn't figure out another one.. It's easy... )

Good luck, anyhow..

Beren87 08-21-2003 01:02 AM

No, don't change the rules, 'cause then it's just Cryptic Clues.

The Saucepan Man 08-21-2003 06:55 PM

Or riddles. Beren's right. This game should stick to the original rules if it is to avoid deletion as a duplicate thread.

Novnarwen 08-23-2003 03:20 AM

Thank you Beren87 and Saucepan man!

We'll stick to the original rules.

Anyone may continue as I'm not to be at the computer. Virus problems...

For anyone who might continue, the rules are at the first post of this thread. Thank you!

Large
Vegetarian
Fierce

Mithisilien 09-12-2003 03:49 PM

An ent? Such as Treebeard?

Beren87 09-12-2003 07:39 PM

Or, an Oliphuant.

The Saucepan Man 09-14-2003 12:01 PM

No, neither of those.

The description "vegetarian" may be misleading. I implied it from what we hear of this character's diet. But, since that diet may have included fish and insects under certain circumstances, "omnivourous" might possibly be more accurate.

Firnantoonion 09-14-2003 12:22 PM

Ghan-Buri-Ghan?
(can he be considered large?)

well, just a try

Gwaihir the Windlord 09-16-2003 01:31 AM

Beorn? Not sure about the insects, though...

The Saucepan Man 09-16-2003 06:28 PM

You are correct, my dear Windlord. Beorn was the chap had in mind.

As a man, he seems to have had a vegetarian diet (I would guess that he didn't keep his servants as livestock ). In bear form, however, his diet may have been more commensurate with that of a bear, and so might well have included insects (grubs, ants and the like).

In any event, you may continue, Gwaihir.

Gil-Galad 10-29-2003 06:32 PM

Nilpaurion Felagund 11-30-2003 08:57 PM
