One Word

<B>One Word to Rule Them All</B><P>Describe in one word and one word only your thoughts on the LOTR movies so far, including if you want to how the adaptation from book to movie went. Any word, any language (although there's a lot of monolingual people like me out there, so if it's not English please provide a definition in brackets).

Liriodendron 01-12-2003 09:37 AM

COOL!

mollecon 01-12-2003 09:43 AM

(that's a pretty close description of my feelings)

Liriodendron 01-12-2003 09:59 AM

Ha! I like pleasant surprises. As I was waiting for the box with the "x" to turn to something, I was smiling, sure I would see the "blea, ill" smilie! Ah, a nice happy face. For the record, I am not a PJ freak. Of course, the books are far superior to the movie, but I have no problem with enjoying "cheap" ( how many millions ) thrills. I have gotten lots of pleasure from many of the images in the movie, I just ignore the crappy parts. It could have been so much worse....whatever...

MLD-Grounds-Keeper-Willie 01-12-2003 02:05 PM

Bittersweet.

BethoHOG 01-12-2003 02:09 PM

Visual ... <P>... I know that films are, by their very definition, visual. I wanted to say visually stunning - but that's two words.<P>

maikafanawen 01-12-2003 03:04 PM

wicked<P>(as in impressive and powerful that is)

Deiagorn 01-12-2003 03:22 PM

Âarenýl<BR>'ARROW-NEL'<BR>Asendoric transation is err, hard to describe as it means 'I will' aswell. I guess it would be 'above satisfactory'..loosely...<P>In English i'd say its fantastic and addictive!

Rose Cotton 01-12-2003 06:03 PM

Captivating!

Lily Bracegirdle 01-12-2003 06:57 PM

PeregrinTook 01-12-2003 08:29 PM

Outstanding! <P>You know what? It can't be perfect to the book if it's gonna appeal to 21st century people!! Although I wouldn't mind... But it would cut away the suspense for those who've read the books, also...

Tar-Palantir 01-12-2003 08:43 PM

Tigerlily Gamgee 01-12-2003 10:15 PM

There's a word I've heard which means feeling two conflicting emotions about the same thing and that's the word I'd use if I find it I'll put it in

Child of the 7th Age 01-13-2003 10:29 AM

Everyone's used adjectives. Here's a noun:<P>Fanfiction

Rimbaud 01-13-2003 10:43 AM

Darkside 01-13-2003 02:16 PM

Blasphemous

Greyhame 01-13-2003 02:28 PM

"Taken-entirely-out-of-context-by-people-who-refuse-to-acknowledge-cinema-as-true-art"<P>Sorry, I cheated... <P>Although I do agree with Child of the 7th Age when she says "Fanfiction" as well, but seriously, has there ever been a grander, more breathtaking fanfic than this one?

Balin999 01-13-2003 03:27 PM

...<P>( I have seen the movies twice, but I still can't tell if I like it or not)

Carrûn 01-13-2003 03:39 PM

Vardadurwen 01-13-2003 05:44 PM

Fellowship: Wonderful<P>Two Towers: Bittersweet or Moving

Brinniel 01-13-2003 06:04 PM

Breathtaking.

The Saucepan Man 01-13-2003 06:08 PM

Rimbaud, from reading your thoughts on TTT on other threads, I would guess at "harrowing"?

the mortal elf 01-13-2003 07:00 PM

I was going to say awe-inspiring but Tigerlilly took it So I'll say "Triumphant" instead.

Kalimac 01-13-2003 10:08 PM

Bemusement. (This applies more to TTT, though).
