Battles
In which battle of the War of the Jewels was Glaurung wounded.
?
He was wounded by archers when he first issued from Angband, in a skirmish two hundred years after the Dagor Argeleb. Glaurung was also wounded by Azaghâl, Lord of Belegost, with a Dwarf-knife in the belly when he crushed him to death in the Nirnaeth Arnoediad.
So he was wounded in battle twice, although only one of those is numbered as one of the great battles of the War of the Jewels. |
Correctamundo. Your turn.

Turumbar, keep it alive! Please! I really like this subject, and there are so many more questions to be asked.
The Battle of Tumhalad was the result of whose faulty judgement and resulted in what tragedy?
The faulty judgement of Turgon and the destruction of Gondolin.
Nope.
Was it Orodreth? The battle resulted in the sack of Nargothrond.
Yes...Orodeth or Turin would work, since Turin persuaded Orodeth to openly attack, thus revealing the location of Nargothrond.
Who fought in the Battle of Azanulbizar? What was the result? Also, what caused it?
Dwarves/orcs, the dwarves won, orc leader Azog slew Dwarven King Thror causing Thror's heir Thrain to wage war on the orcs.
Very good Legalos! Your turn now.
What battle resulted in Turgon's inheritance of the Kingship of the Noldor?
Wasn't it the Dagor Bragollach?

Good job Joy!
Joy, please post again, since this seems to be a really good quiz, with lots of interesting information.
In the Battle of Sudden Flame, how was Finglofin killed? What was the two names for this?
Fingolfin wasn't killed in the Battle of the Sudden Flame. He died in a duel against Morgoth.
Daniel, I understand where your coming from. Fingolfin was killed by Morgoth during the Battle of the Sudden Flame.
I'll find another question later today. |
We have misunderstood each other. After the Battle of the Sudden Flame, when all seemed lost, Fingolfin rode alone to Angband, challenging Morgoth to combat. So, you could say that he died because of the Noldorne's defeat at the battle of the Sudden Flame.
Joy: The chapter in the Sil was called of the Ruin of Beleriand and the Fall of Fingolfin
Would that be it? |
