Soundtrack

Just got the soundtrack on Thursday! Wooohoooo! I am soo exited. I figured out the notes for part of the concerning hobbits thing, the flute/recorder. Who else has the soundtrack? Isn't it awesome?

Does anyone know where I could get the written music??

He He!

Menewilwarin of Mirkwood 05-05-2002 11:45 AM

I also love the soundtrack very much. I listen to it loads because when I do I'm taken back to how I felt when i first saw the film <which was: very emotional, awe-inspired and happy> tis brilliant!!

Auriel Haevasawen 05-06-2002 03:33 PM

I'm a soundtrack fan too. I bought it as soon as I'd seen the film the first time. I used to use the soundtrack from Gladiator to play in the background while I'm writing but I've played nothing but my Fellowship CD since December! It rocks!

gollum*elf*pup 05-06-2002 05:14 PM

Oh, and Arwen, I think you can buy the written music at most music stores (at least the ones that sell music)

Jeli Baggins 05-06-2002 07:31 PM

OMG! I absolutly love the soundtrack! I first learned the notes on my keyboard then transfered them into trumpet notes. (Those are the only two instruments I can play hehe) I really really really wish though that the movie would come out sooner! (I seriously think I'm on a misson to wear it out! (hope to gosh that never happens!)

Menewilwarin I do agree w/ u b/c I'm also always taken back to the first time I saw it. (I'll never see it the same way again.

Niere-Teleliniel 05-06-2002 07:41 PM

I love the soundtrack to death! I think The Breaking of the Fellowship is such a beautiful song! Perfect for falling asleep

I love the soundtrack. I listen to it every chance I get. I even know the words to a lot of the songs (the elvish lyrics) and I sing along though I can't sing at all!

I'm gonna buy the sheet music for my collection, even though the only instrument I can play (a little bit) is the piano.

Nevfeniel 05-06-2002 08:09 PM

Howard Shore definitely deserved that Oscar! I don't have the soundtrack yet, but I'll get one of these days. Now, to find some unsuspecting person willing to give me money. . . how 'bout the First National Bank of Dad? Wait, no, it's been closed down from overuse. . .

Ithaeliel 05-06-2002 08:29 PM

Hmm... whaddya know, I have an account in the very same bank and it hasn't allowed me to make a withdrawal in a long time... in other words, dad I need my allowance since no one ever asks me to babysit. Anywho, I have the soundtrack!!! I absolutely love it too, it is the only thing I have listened to in like a month. Howard Shore can truly put emotion into his music. The Bridge of Khazad-Dum was dark, intense, and beautiful.
Luvs!

avarrogion 05-07-2002 03:27 AM

The sountrack i got it a day after the movie was release...i have to special order the cassete for the car and CD for the system!!
The track is beautiful beyond fantasy....other than that anyone else collects other stuff of LOTR other than the Soundtrack?
I have two versions of the movie poster, two sets of LOTR books, mugs, and even wine goblet made of pewter.

" Thag you very Bunch "

Arod 05-07-2002 07:55 PM

I bought it in December... I have a fetish for soundtracks... The way I love to listen to it is when I'm reading the books (I'm still reading, I tend to be very slow at reading...) it puts me in the mood.

Thinhyandoiel 05-07-2002 09:47 PM

I love the soundtrack!! As I was watching the movie for the first time, I knew I had to get it. In fact I got it the very next day. You know the dwarvish chanting in Moria? That's what made me sit up in my seat and say to myself "I MUST HAVE THIS SOUNDTRACK!!" It's so cool! Plus, Amon Hen and Breaking of the Fellowship are great for falling asleep. Lament for Gandalf (Lothlorien) is just cool to sing along with, and The Ring Goes South is great writing music!! This soundtrack is GREAT!!! *hugglez CD*

Aosama, the Wandering Star 05-07-2002 09:54 PM

BOO HOO HOO! I want the soundtrack! I'm saving up, but thanks to lack of allowance and job, I'm still sixteen dollars short. its even worse when everyone else is raving about it! My friend has it, and loves it, and was VERY upset when "May it Be" did not get the Oscar. I must get the soundtrack so I can understand what you're talking about! Nevfeniel, I know what you mean. My National Bank of Mum has been closed to restock as well

piosenniel 05-07-2002 10:03 PM

do you think there will be a soundtrack out for TTT, also?

Elvenglass 05-07-2002 10:20 PM

I hope there will be a soundtrack for TTT...that would be great. Even though I don't have the soundtrack for FotR yet...but soon. As soon as I get some money. The soundtrack is so gorgeous. *drool*

Arod 05-08-2002 08:37 AM

I would imagine with the success of this soundtrack they would have one for TTT. Most movies including the triology kind have their own seperate soundtrack available. I have ones like that...

Starbreeze 05-08-2002 12:36 PM

The soundtrack makes me cry.

Arwen Imladris 05-08-2002 03:39 PM

Starbreeze: The soundtrack makes me cry.
Me Too!

gollum*elf*pup Oh, and Arwen, I think you can buy the written music at most music stores (at least the ones that sell
music)

I don't have a store that sells music in my little town! I had to travel for 2 hours to Ottawa to get the soundtrack. Oh well, my birthday is coming up.....

Oh ya, I figured out another part on the piano, then transfered to recorder and Trumpet. I love it!

gollum*elf*pup 05-08-2002 06:09 PM

the soundtrack never made me cry before . . . but it always makes me fall asleep! http://www.colute.net/cwm/cwm/3dlil/sleep.gif

piosenniel 05-08-2002 06:12 PM

gollumelfpup -- is this good that it makes you fall asleep! or do you just find it incredibly boring?

gollum*elf*pup 05-08-2002 06:17 PM

no! it's a good thing! it's such lovely music it makes me think of sleeping !( thst my fav. thing to do by the way. well one of them. eating, riding, tolkien . . .) well whatever

Niere-Teleliniel 05-08-2002 06:46 PM

I can fall asleep to the quiet songs. haha, although some of the others give quite an adrenaline rush! Enya really has a soporific effect http://www.contrabandent.com/cwm/s/cwm/3dlil/sleep.gif

Nevfeniel 07-14-2002 03:15 PM

I just bought the CD yesterday! Woohoo!
*sniff* Whenever I listen to the end of The Bridge of Kazad-Dum, I start feeling sad.

Arathiriel 07-14-2002 04:52 PM

I am listening to The Breaking of the Fellowship and it is SO BEAUTIFUL!

My comment on Enya: I loved her music before LOTR! She has very relaxing music and it's what I always listen to when I can't get to sleep!

Incidentially, did you all know that Enya wrote a piece of music entitled Lothlorien years before making Fellowship of the Ring was even a possible dream for Peter Jackson? She has oblivious been a LOTR fan for years!

Arwen Imladris 07-14-2002 06:28 PM

Really? That is very cool! At least somebody involved in making LOTR was a fanatic before the movie!

Catherine 07-14-2002 06:35 PM

Enya is very nice to listen to and I love TLotR soundtrack.

Anarya SilverBranch 07-14-2002 06:46 PM

I am soooo glad that the soundtrack won Best Musical Score at the academys. It desereved it completely and untterly!!!!!
I've listened to nothing else for the past three months!!! Along with all of my enya cds. I LOVE ENYA!!!

archon 07-15-2002 06:03 PM

It was good that they got Enya involved with the movie, but I first read LoTR back in the early 1970's and I still have this musical connection with some of Led Zeppelin's music. Does anyone remember their "Battle of Evermore" and "Misty Mountain Hop"? Some of their metalish music, I think, would have been especially appropriate as background for the doings in Moria or Isengard.

Suppose there's any chance we might hear some Zeppelin tunes anywhere in the next two installments of the movie? I hope so!

Caradhras 07-17-2002 05:16 PM

<font color="blue"&gt
Hey~
I got the soundtrack too it's really cool !!!! Laters~! </font>

Caradhras 07-17-2002 05:17 PM

Argh!! It didn't work what on earth am I doing wrong here??????? Can anyone help me out? Laters~!

Gorothlammothiel 07-17-2002 05:27 PM

I bought the soundtrack not long after it came out which i think was sometime in November. I love it and it was the only CD i took on all my school trips this year. I was ridiculed for having classical music while they had the likes of So Solid Crew (who i can't stand). It seems that i am forever doomed to be the odd one out at school, no one appreciates these things i do......

As for the sheet music, no where near me sells it and i have been trying to find it on the net, and somewhere where they can actually send it outside the US, seems as though i am to suffer in that respect too

Nevfeniel 07-17-2002 05:35 PM

A few days ago, I ordered the LotR sheet music for my brother; well, he was supposed to get it for me for my birthday, but he was too lazy, so my mom and I ordered it for him.

tangerine 07-17-2002 07:12 PM

if anyone here plays guitar, i tabbed out the main theme music of the movie, the two bits that recur all throughout the movie. (there's a kind of peaceful, emotional part and then there's one for action and important decisions and whatnot.) if anyone wants me to send them a copy just PM me, okay?

Sangoff 07-21-2002 02:12 PM

Oh yes, I got the soundtrack about a month ago and OMGosh it's good. I didn't even know it would be that good. It always makes me want to cry on the songs "Amon Hen" and "The Breaking of the Fellowship". It is so worth the money that I spent on it. Howard Shore did an excellent job on it.

mystra 07-21-2002 02:55 PM

i rented the soundtrack and have some of the songs on tape. "aniron" makes me cry.

enya's "lothlorien" also makes me cry.

BUT there is an even better song in the world than anything to do with enya, or lotr!

has anyone heard "forever may not be long enough" from the mummy returns?

it is PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!

Kaze 07-21-2002 04:06 PM

The soundtrack of a movie is always one of the first things I notice, and LotR had outstanding music. It's probably the first reason I have for liking the movie.

And yeah, "Forever may not be Long Enough" was good, too.

mystra 07-21-2002 04:10 PM

yay! somebody who knows!!! someone with good taste!

is it available as a single?
