Sam's Strange Sentence
I was browsing through a movie script today and came across something quite odd in the process. I was looking at the FOTR script near the part where Frodo meets Aragorn at Bree. Here is a line, said by Sam, and this is how it was written...

hmmm...i must now check....yes he says Let 'im go....but it could be a...these are the options do whichever sounds better thing

I've always heard it as "Let him go". A copy of that page from the actual script would definitely come in useful here. ^ ^
Oh, and it's "sentence", not "sentance". Abedithon le, ~ Saphy, the bane of spelling errors ~ |
Sapphire, you can find the script here.
P.S. Oh, and sorry for the bad spelling, that happens once in a while, you know? But for some reason, though I edited the title to its right spelling, the changes did not appear on the thread title...just the post title. Any ideas? |
It's all good. :D Everyone slips sometimes. And I think changing the actual title is a mod thing. Maybe you could ask Estelyn.
Thanks for the script link, BTW! ^ ^ Abedithon le, ~ Saphy ~ |
Hmm...nope! I've always heard and liked it as "Let em go!" :)

Whoever wrote the script you're reading probably just messed up a bit. Going by there own incorrect memory instead of consulting the movie.

WhatI don't understand about that line is that "Longshanks" was Bill Ferny's name for Aragorn. How'd Sam learn it?
|
I think it was one of those times that PJ takes one character's line in the book and gives it to another character in the movie. Like at the Moria gate, Frodo in the movie says that whole line about the riddle, but in the books it was Merry. There wasn't really a Bill Ferny in the movie, so they gave the line to Sam.
