Thoughts on the Tolkien world of Gaming

I'm not sure if this goes here, but if it doesn't feel free to move it where it should go...

We've all seen Lotr merchandise, weather it be action figures or trading cards, but what are your thoughts on these items? i for one enjoy the Games Workshop Miniatures of Lotr but i think sometime they go to far...take pokemon for example

DO you think it will crash? or will they keep basic sense and don't go to outragous...

Well that depends on the people of give rights to produce these mini figures,if they keep it simple they will seel till the end of time ,

ya i agree pokemon was taken too far ,and if lotr does not take any lessons from their mistakes it will fall too.

I think that the merchandizing has gone too far, too fast and will most likely run aground and sink to the bottom of the sea. After it gets there they'll most likely try to revive it and it will burst in to flames. But you don't have to listen to me as I'm one of those people who were into LOTR before it started to get popular, long before the movies were anounced.

Don't think I'm trying to be mean but there is an old saying. "All good things must come to an end." The LOTR merchandise has yet to go too far. Now where they begin making Barbie Dolls that look like Arwen. Now that will be taking it over the cliff.

all we have to hope for is no Uruk-Hai Band-Aids or Gandalfs magic train of adventure!

Encaitare 09-03-2004 05:00 PM

Oh, I don't know, I think Urul-hai Band-aids would be kinda fun! You could stick them to everything! :p :D

Gil-Galad 09-03-2004 05:01 PM

Sticking Urk-Hai and fuzzy elves on your mortal wounds... its like if you got stabbed by a uruk-hai and then they gave you a band-aid with there picture on it...

Encaitare 09-03-2004 05:04 PM

.. just to remember them by before you go... plus, it's a warning to all who would cross the fighting Uruk-hai! Like a We Were Here sort of thing: "Fear us, for we came, we fought, and we stuck little sticky bandages! GRRR!" Ah, the irony. I can just see Boromir lying there dying and covered in Uruk-hai Band-Aids... :D

strange how we have the same twisted visons of absurdity...

But i still say that the LotR minitures was a good investment, it will last long and prove a wealthy investment

Right now there not going overoard, rather downsizing the LOTR merchandise
