Fog on the Barrow-Downs models

Fog on the Barrow-Downs Box Set

Has anyone seen this before? It looks pretty awesome. If you can't read the really tiny text on the back of the box, it says:

Quote:

This box contains Tom Bombadil, Goldberry, 4 Barrow-wights, and 4 paralysed Hobbits. These multi-part metal miniatures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Before you glue the models together, clean and trim each part with clippers, a Citadel file or sharp modeling knife. For best results undercoat the models before painting with Citadel Colour paints. Scenery, glue, and paint not included. Contents may vary from those shown. Models designed by Michael Perry and Alan Perry.
(If this is old news, I shall just have to be chagrined.)

Yes, I've seen this. The Wights look a bit odd, but Bombadillo and Goldberry are cool...

Our local branch of Games Workshop has one of these in the window display, fully painted and assembled; I always have to stop and look at it. :) The range covers just about every character, they even do a Lobelia figure, complete with umbrella, but they are very fiddly to paint, alas. :( If you were especially clever at making things you could add little Barrow-Downer figures in to the set...

Games-Workshop always has great stuff, I used to collect their Warhammer miniatures and play with friends. They came out with a whole bunch of LOTR stuff, but alas I have a life now and was unable to continue it as a hobby.

I like their Top-Hatted Paladin Took and quiffed Fatty Bolger...and their Glorfindel is tasty. Elladan and Elrohir are rather strange though...

Those look neat. I'll have to look into buying a set. I like painting and making things like that so it should be cool.

Thanks for the link Enca! ;)

LOTr site

look at the catalog for more minitures of LOTR, they are very well painted and such. even has Imrahil and the Knights of Dol Amroth, Glorfindel, Elladan and Ellrohir and Dunedain of the north and much more not in the movies

Hehe. I used to collect miniatures for Warhammer and paint them. Still got them too, at the back of a cupboard somewhere.

A word of warning. I strongly suspect that the close-up, detailed work required is responsible for the spectacles that I am now forced to wear. :(
