The name is a bit creepy methinks... you might buy something and find the owner would stalk you for years before trying to reclaim the item by amputating the relevant bodypart (so don't get a necklace!) and you'd have to shove them in a volcano to get away... Presumably shoplifters are pursued by orcses.... Now if there were a jewellers called "Celebrimbor of Hollin"......

And welcome to the Downs, Esmeralda!

PS: FaramirJones, do you know who ownes that shop?

Faramir Jones 02-17-2011 05:28 AM

No

No, Galadriel55, I don't know who the owner is. However, I found some of the company's details on website www.solocheck.ie/IrishCompanyInfo:

Key Company Details for GOLLUM'S PRECIOUS LTD

Registered Company Number: 344401
Company Type: PRIVATE LIMITED BY SHARES
Current Status: NORMAL :D
Principal Activity: [36.22] MANUFACTURE OF JEWELLERY AND RELATED ARTICLES N.E.C.
Partial Registered Address: CO. DUBLIN

On a website of the shopping centre where the shop's located is an advertisement for the shop, along with contact details:

http://www.powerscourtcentre.com/sho...lums-precious/

A polite enquiry there might get you the information you're looking for.

Another review of the shop can be found here:

Welcome to the Downs, Esmeralda!

Or you could address a speculative letter to S. Gollum, Esq. - I seem to remember after he got a letter from a Mr S. Gamgee, Tolkien wondered how he would deal with one from anyone of that name!

Faramir Jones 02-17-2011 06:05 AM

A more accurate name

Any letter should properly refer to him as 'Sméagol (aka Gollum)'. It should also be polite, and not refer to him as a 'cousin-killer'.;)
