T-I-G CVIII: Wolves of the Galadhrim (Admin Thread)
 

It is the second millennium of the Third Age. Amroth son of Amdír is still king of Lórien, and he has just learned a dreadful secret from his guest, the Lady Galadriel: the mysterious dark power in Dol Guldur has its spies amongst his people– foul creatures who look like Silvan Elves by day, but at night… well, you know the drill… ;)

Except these wolves can climb trees.

Rôles
2 or 3 Werewolves– Choose a player to kill each Night.

Galadriel (Seer)– dreams a player every Night.
Amroth (Ranger/Lover)– protects a player every Night. May not pick the same player twice in a row. May or may not be able to self-protect. (i.e. I’m not telling.)
Nimrodel (Lover)– The exact nature of the Lovers' relationship is a secret. You are free to speculate.

Depending on numbers, there may be some more secret stuff...

In the event of a tie, the outcome will be decided by a coin-flip, or other random means.

Wednesday, so I'll be free for a month after that.

Lucky! I'm only in the starting phase of exam study (which, to my deepest regrets, means that I can't play at the moment), and I still have almost a month to go before I'm free.

Lots going on RL at the moment. So unless this waits a couple of weeks to get going, I'll be laying out. :(

I imagine many people have exams now, and are possibly too busy to check the forum. We'll just have to wait.

I thought there was a real possibility people were unnerved by the spambot invasion. It's a bit disconcerting to log in and see about 50 members online, all but three or four of them 'bots.

That was very unnerving. Maybe we could ask them if they want to play? There are certainly enough of them.

Oh, I did that in my last game. They won.

Why, thanks! I have been thinking about the Barrow Downs a fair bit lately, and recently bought a card game version of this game... and had a sudden urge to play some TIG. And there's a game getting set to start! Couldn't be any more perfect, really

I've heard of the card version. Is it any good, or is straight up roleplaying superior?

If I ever manage to get more than 8 of my friends to show up to a board games night at the same time, I'll let you know! I must admit it was a bit of an impulse buy since the best we've done is 8... and this game requires a MINIMUM of 8 :P

It's the same exact game as we play here, only you need more face-to-face reading skills instead of textual analysis.

Ah, then my poker face I've acquired through Magic: The Gathering will be of great use, and sending false signals should be a breeze.

P.S. I have the same problem getting enough people for RL Werewolf. Harrumph.

Well, the last time I posted around here I was still trying to get into Med School... I'll be Dr. Farael next May! Incidentally, guess why I've been so busy! :p

But when I saw that card game I was hit by a literal(ly figurative) flood of memories and I Just had to check and see if there was a Werewolf game happening... and not only there was one, but it was getting started!

I look forward to taking a stab at this game again

I hate double-posting, but..

Do we have an estimate on when we might start the game? I am free-ish for the next couple weeks (as free as a medical student ever is... so not very), but I may be skipping town in late December

I'll be able to play as long as there's a late DL. Anything between 9pm-midnight would be great.

*waves* Hey there! So many familiar faces... I just wish I remembered who I distrusted in the past. The only one I remember was The Saucepan Man who was evil as can be!

And for some reason, I don't trust Rikae either! The reason being that I briefly skimmed over the LAST WW game to see how things were played nowadays (the same as ever) and she was very smooth.

Farael, all I can say is, it'll start when it starts- we have to get enough people. At this rate I don't see it happening before next week, I'm afraid.:(

Oh, and you should always suspect Rikae.. Even when she isn't playing.
