Oxonmoot

I tried tacking this question on to the end of the LOTR Conventions thread, but didn't get any response.
Is anyone going to Oxonmoot this year? Its the Tolkien Society's annual weekend get together in Oxford, which culminates in a visit to Tolkien's grave on the Sunday morning. This year its over four days, Sept 18 - 21st. I went for the first time last year and enjoyed it, but I'm wondering about going again.

I have never heard of this before. Can anybody go, or is it just for particular people or are there any special requirements?
I am not exactly the most knowledgeable of Tolkien fans and would feel most out of place at something like this.

Meela, anyone is welcome. Its organised by the Tolkien Society, a registered charity in the UK. Here's our web page:

You don't have to be a Tolkien expert. We're still a bit 20th century - we even post out magazines to members 6 times a year! We have members all over the world.
Honestly, there are some experts in the Tolkien Society, but most of us are just fans of Tolkien's books.
