LOTR Video Game

wasnt sure were to put this, so i just guessed [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img]

does anyone have any tips for TTT video game for ps2? i cant beat the watcher but i also need some help after. cheats and codes would be nice too

The Saucepan Man 04-22-2003 08:40 PM

I think that there is already a thread on the video games. But since you asked ...

I haven't got past Balin's Tomb myself yet. But to beat the Watcher (as Aragorn), you wade out into the water, parry the tentacles and then chop at them when you get a chance. Each time you sever a tentacle, the Watcher raises his head and you fire as many arrows into it as you can. After four or five times of doing this, it dies.

Give me a minute and I'll put you up some cheats! I have finished it and when you do it gives you all the cheats, and a secret charachter too!

To enter a code:

1)Start a mission
2)Press the START button to pause
3)Press and hold L1 L2 R1 R2
4)Input the specified code sequence

ALWAYS DEVESTATING- SQUARE, SQUARE, O, O

SMALL ENIMIES- TRIANGLE, TRIANGLE, X, X

ALL UPGRADES- TRIANGLE, O, TRIANGLE, O

INVUNERABLE- TRIANGLE, SQUARE, X, O

SLO-MO- TRINAGLE, O, X, SQUARE

INFINITE MISSLES- SQUARE, 0, X, TRIANGLE

Please note that some of these only work when you finish the game! I am sure there are more put can't find any, try searching on the net if these don't work!

wicked thanks! could you tell me who the secret character is i cant wait that long to beat it!

Mattius 04-25-2003 06:59 AM

The scret player is Isildur, he plays just like Aragorn but has more energy. Also there is a secret level when you finish the game where you fight at Orthanc.

Which is a big fat pain in the hiney. I think I've gotten up to 17 before I got wasted.

Mattius 04-25-2003 07:54 AM

I'e finished the Orthanc level, man it gets really hard! It was worth it though to see Sauraman's face!

Rynoah, the Overly-Happy 04-25-2003 09:30 AM

There will be more screams of "FOR GONDOR!" and "GONDOR WILL PREVAIL!" before I get through with the Orthanc. Many, many, many, many more (much to my mother's dismay....)

As for Balin's Tomb, which part are you stuck on?

Why can't you beat the watcher? Just block, then slice off an arm, and shoot it while it screams in pain! But, you probably shouldn't do it with Gimli until you get better at the game. Get Gimli upgrades too, because he gets real useful when you fight Uruk-hai. Sorry, but I don't have ant cheats. That stragety book is way too expensive for me! [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]

BigEyedDwarfilatti 04-26-2003 07:38 PM

at cheatcc.com there are a ton of codes some ttt codes that were not listed like restore health and ammuniton caus ethe infintes wont work till you bea tthe game just make sure you look under l for lotr not t for ttt

Mattius 04-27-2003 01:52 PM

Gimli kicks *** against the Uruk Hai's- one whack with the axe and they don't get back up!

The Saucepan Man 04-27-2003 05:17 PM

Yay! I finally managed to beat the Cave Troll in Balin's Tomb tonight. [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img] But it did take rather an inordinate amount of time. Is there a quicker way to deal with him other than simply trying to avoid him while pumping arrows into him?

Also, is it just me, or do you need an incredibly strong and flexible thumb for this game? I have it on X-Box, and my thumb gets knackered constantly trying to hit the A, Y, X and B buttons in diferent combinations. I end up just hitting them randomly and hoping for the best. the only thing ican say is i have it for ps2 and dont have your troubles i think ps2s controller is set up better in my opinion

gilraën 04-28-2003 04:39 PM

some codes and cheats, if you must

a really useful walkthrough guide

Mattius 04-28-2003 04:44 PM

Yeah the Xbox controllers are a bit cumbersome next to their PS2 counterparts. What I can advise you to do Saucepan Man, if it is causing you that much grief, is to buy/order a Japanese Xbox pad as Microsoft made them smaller so the smaller handed Japanese could use them!! Of course it would cost you a fair penny to get one imported to the UK so I think you'd better get your thumb into some serious training- thumb wrestling? Or perhaps a quick round of tiddlywinks- you can go first, best of three Saucepan Man!

I don't even want to think about playing TTT for X-Box. The Dreamcast controller is already enough for me to handle. *strokes her cute li'l Playstation controllers*

The Saucepan Man 04-29-2003 06:03 PM

[img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img] On-line tiddlywinks, eh Mattius? Sounds like fun. [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

Although I previously had a PS1, I got an X-Box just so I could enjoy the latest in the (utterly wonderful) Oddworld series (Munch's Oddysee). The controller for the PS1 was much easier to handle than the X-Box, so I'm beginning to wonder whether it was the right decision. Still, the X-Box apparently has a better DVD function, and I certainly need that for my FotR extended edition. [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]

Oh well, better get my thumb in training for Amon Hen. [img]smilies/rolleyes.gif[/img]

Mattius 04-30-2003 02:47 PM

A word from the wise, your thumbs will need all the training you can muster for the final level, I'm not going to spoil it for you but its insanely hard!

Rynoah, the Overly-Happy 04-30-2003 11:57 PM

The next person to mention the final level gets strung up by their toes and tickled to death. Mom was ready to throw a bucket of water on me when I played it because I was screaming and spitting at the screen in a frothing rage. *growls low to herself*

Rindoien, elf of Lothlorien 05-01-2003 06:13 AM

same here i simply CANNOT beat the watcher....grrr..

Nyneve 05-01-2003 07:37 PM

Something I know about!!!! Who are you being? Sorry if you said already but I didn't read the whole thing. To beat the Watcher, parry while standing in the water until all tentacles are up straight in the air. Then chop one off and when the Watcher rises its head from the water, shoot it and continue parrying and repeating until it's dead!
