I have a question concerning the Sill.....

Okay, in the Silmarilion, in the chaper "Of Feanor" I got a little confused. I confused where it said
Quote:

The wedding of his father was not pleasing to Feanor; and he had great love for Indis, nor for Fingolfin and Finarfin, her sons.
Okay, I am going to stop there (that was on page 65 in my book). I thought that Feanor was Finwe's father? Am a wrong? Because it goes on to say that Finwe was Feanor's father! I am so confused? I know I must sound dumb, but, Help?

Taken from the Index in the Silmarillion:

Feanor: Eldest son of Finwe(the only child of Finwe and Miriel), half-brother of Fingolfin and Finarfin.

Feanor's Sons: Maedhros, Maglor, Celegorm, Carathir, Curufin, Amrod, Amrars.

Nerdanel:The spouse of Feanor.

Hope that helps.

P.S. I think Feanor was also called Curufin by his father, but his mother called him Feanor(something about fire and soul). He(Feanor) named his son Curufin, after his father I believe.

Also, in the back of the Sil there's a few pages that have the geneologies of the Eldarin families. Finwe was married twice.
I know had to go look those family trees up a few times as I was reading!
