Glenethor 02-25-2002 12:15 PM

I really hate it when apple juice comes out my nose!

LOL! <cough> LOL <snort> LOL! <dribble>

That is a classic! Right up there with Shatner's Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds and Mr. Tambourine Man!

LOL!

Raefindel 02-25-2002 02:44 PM

Isn't apple juice good for the nose? Glad you enjoyed it Glenethor!

Aralaithiel 02-25-2002 03:21 PM

Thanks for making my cat run under the bed! Gawd that's awful!!!! Nimoy sings even worse than I do, and I can't carry a tune in a bucket; but I can play flute!
Oh, and Shatner is just as bad!
Now to go lure Max out from hiding with tuna and convince him I won't play that awful noise! ROTFLMAO!!!!

Elven-Maiden 02-25-2002 03:37 PM

*falls over laughing*

Rosa Underhill 02-25-2002 03:43 PM

*claps hands to ears* AAAAHHHH!!! The...memories.... AAAAHHHHHH!!! (I've heard this one before, and it was very bad.)

Okay, the minstrel of Gondor isn't so bad now that we've got Mr. Nimoy to compare him to! I'll take "Frodo of the Nine Fingers" anyday over "The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins". Hmmm... I think I know now how Sauron got the needed information out of Gollum...

Raefindel 02-25-2002 04:09 PM

Ahh, Yes, torturous, wasn't it?

Rosa Underhill 02-25-2002 04:37 PM

*in fetal position on the floor, arms over head* Yesss....

Aralaithiel 02-25-2002 06:36 PM

Now that I have successfully extricated Max from under the bed....
I am still laughing!!!! The keyboard is in danger of shorting out because the tears of laughter are flowing like Niagra Falls!!
Thanks for the laugh! I have been in sore need of it!

Raefindel 02-25-2002 06:41 PM

I apologize to max! I didn't mean to scare him.

Raefindel 02-25-2002 09:12 PM

Leonard Nimoy is my favorite singer! NOT!

Birdland 02-25-2002 11:32 PM

I will not go to this link. I refuse to have "The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins" become one of those songs that get stuck in your head at odd moments.

Maybe "The 60's Live!", but that doesn't mean ALL things from the 60's should.

Raefindel 02-25-2002 11:38 PM

Yeah, I'd love to see you sing this in the grocery store

Joy 02-26-2002 12:04 AM

Do I even dare????

Glenethor 02-26-2002 01:01 AM

I'd pay money....

Funny, I was thinking earlier that there must've been some babyboomers who actually thought that was...uh...gear..fab....groovy....whatever...*shudder*. Methinks their love of the halflings' leaf had clearly blown their minds....Wonder what Lenny says when his grandkids ask him: "What else did you do in the 60's grandad?"

Joy 02-26-2002 01:10 AM

Glenethor, off topic, but cool sig. Where is that poem from?

Back on topic, yikes!!!! I don't think that the people in the 60's just smoked longbottom-leaf, or loved to raid Farmer Moggot's mushroom farm.

Orald 02-26-2002 01:51 AM

You may all hate that song, but I loved it. Actually I probably don't anymore, but when I was younger that song was in 'The Hobbit" movie and I loved it. The songs in that movie were awesome, especially the goblin songs. For orcs, they are really good singers.

Glenethor 02-26-2002 08:49 AM

Joy,

That is a lyric to a song on the LoTR soundtrack. It is track 17, 'The Breaking of the Fellowship.' Sung by a boy tenor. Beautiful song. Segues (sp?) right into Enya's 'May It Be' which is the final track. And no, not only Longbottom Leaf and 'Shrooms', but funny coloured sugar cubes too...

There's a place I know where the hipsters go called Bedrock! Twist! Twist!

Ballad of Bilbo Baggins
(sung to tune of "Beverly Hillbillies" theme song. Apologies to Flatt and Scruggs)

Come and listen to my story
of a Hobbit named Baggins.
Met up with some Dwarves
and he went to whoop a Dragon.
Then one day he was wanderin' 'round with
Sting,
when up from the ground came the gosh-durn Ring!

(One Ring, that is...
Black Arts...
Curse of M.E.)

Raefindel 02-26-2002 10:38 AM

Birdland, you are so talanted! When are you going to cut your own albun?

Rosa Underhill 02-26-2002 01:47 PM

*falls off chair, convulses with laughter on floor*

Oh, MAN!! That was awesome Birdland!

Airetauriel 02-26-2002 02:07 PM

Ya know, It's too bad he didn't wear his pointy ears in this. It would have been fitting.
