Nessa; Wife of Tulkas

Does anyone know anything about Nessa, I believe she was the sister of Orome and the wife of Tulkas. I am only so interested in her, because my name just happens to be Nessa.

Hello Pheonix,
Nessa is indeed the sister of Orome and the wife of Tulkas. Here's an excerpt from the Valaquenta in the Silmarillion:
Quote:

...Nessa, the sister of Orome, and she also is lithe and fleetfooted. Deer she loves, and they follow her train whenever she goes in the wild; but she can outrun them, swift as an arrow with the wind in her hair. In dancing she delights, and she dances in Valimar on lawns of never-fading green.
There you go. What a lovely name you have. Welcome to the Downs! Enjoy yourself.
Peace

that pretty much sums her up.
I can add a couple of points:
-she was one of the Valier- Queens of the Valar.
-patroness of deer
-wedded Tulkas at the Feast of the Spring of Arda, in Almaren, where the Valar then dwelt.

(Please forgive any incorrect information. I'm assuming its all correct)

Well, I thank you indeed for your help, but one last question,...what goddess was she, I know that she was some sort of forest goddess, if anyone knows please tell me. Thank you much.

I have a book where it calls her Nessa the Dancer. Basically, I think she dances through the woods with a trail of deer following her. Kind of like the Pied Piper.
