Questions about the One Ring

If the One Ring was crafted by Sauron, and the Three Elven rings were crafted by Elves, and the Three were made before the One, why does the One have power over the Three? (Or are my facts messed up?) Also, why did Sauron put some of his power into the One? Why risk losing it?

Sauron wanted effectively to capture and dominate the other bearers of rings using the One. The Three were created using the same "art" which had been taught by Sauron, so even though he never touched them and was not involved in their making, they were subject to the power of the One.

So why is the One more powerful? Because Sauron was a Maia and the Elves were just Elves? Or for some other reason?

Sauron out some of his power in the ring cuz it wouldnt be strong enough to control the others if he didnt, and he was better at the craft than celbrimbor because he was the one who thought them the craft of ringmaking

Sauron was a Maia, inherently more powerful than the Elves and the One Ring was more powerful because Sauron captured a large part of his own native power in it. That is why its destruction resulted in Sauron's fall.
