I came up with a really good one and didn't want to wait.

Elves
Men
Ents
Hobbits
Orcs

This is a killer question!

I'll say it's a killer, since there are probably about 1,000 different answers.

Hobbits, bcause they did not play a role in the Battle of Helm's Deep?

Ents

Some of you guessed the right answer, but none of you for the right reason. Here's a hint.

Four of these races did something that the fifth one didn't. (a hint - the orcs did it frequently, and the hobbits are known only to have done it once).

- Maglor

You guys are going to love the answer.

Wild guess

Maybe ents? Because they are the only who didn't enter in Torech Ungol or fought against Shelob?
Orcs did enter often in those passages and frodo and Sam entered once.

Okay - I already stupidly gave away the answer - Ents. But why? What did no ent ever do that was done at least once by an elf, a human, a hobbit and an orc?

Bingo

Exactly, Falmar.

Unless it is tucked away somewhere in the HoME books, there is no recorded incident anywhere of an ent slaying another ent.

(If you are wondering about hobbits, remember Gollum killed Deagol).

I'm not sure about dwarves which is why they weren't included in the list.

Go Falmar!

Battle Of Bywater

It does not specifically say one way or the other, but the implication (Frodo - "There is to be NO killing of hobbits ...) is that they did not. Some hobbits were killed at the battle, however. In any event, it doesn't technically change the answer.

Yes, I think you're right -- it doesn't say any hobbit killed a hobbit. Like I said, good question, Maglor.

Denethor

Denethor was the only one who gave in to the will of an enemy.

Elwe - refused to give up the Nuaglamir
Theoden - charged the Nazgul
Hurin - defied Morgoth even while imprisoned
Lobelia - attempted to fight off the ruffians

Denethor - Was overwhelmed by his visions, gave up and commited suicide.

Realms

They each had their own realms, except one of the sons of Feanor - I can't remember which one.

Celebrimbor - Lindon
Finrod - Nargathrond
Galadriel - Lorien
Turgon - Gondolin
Celegorm / Curifin - ?

I know I'm close, so I'm going to guess Celegorm
