Ill give the answers after 10 or 15 replies
Now Ill give the entwife one though since nobody is really close, and the entwives didn't turn evil in the old forest. in the Shadow of the Past Sam is somewhat arguing with Ted Sandyman about dragons and such and here is a qoute from Sam, 'But what about these Tree-men,these giants as you might call them? They do say that one bigger than a tree was seen up away beyond the North Moors not long back' Sandyman says, 'who's they?' and Sam says, 'my cousin Hal for one. He works for Mr. Boffin at Overhill and goes up to the Northfarthing for the hunting. He saw one.' and Ted says, 'says he did, pehaps. Your Hal's always saying he's seen things; and maybe he sees things that ain't there.' Sam Says, 'But this one was as big as an elm tree, and walking - walking seven yards to a stride, if it was an inch.' Now doesn't that sound like an Ent? |
1. Finwe, Ingwe, Olwe, Elwe
2.Galadriel 3. Tar Ancalime 4. Narya-Gandalf, Vilya-Elrond, Nenya-Galadriel 5.They disappeared North of the Shire. (Sam's convo w/ Sandyman) 6. Samwise threw the apple and his pony Bill kicked Bill Ferny. 7. The Witch King of Angmar aka Lord of the Nazgul. 8. Aule 9. Beren 10. Curinir, Olorin, Aiwendel. Does ANYBODY know the answer to #3?
|
1. Who were the first four leaders of the Elves?
Olwe, Elwe, Finwe, Fingwe 2. Who refused to give Feanor a lock of her hair? Galadriel 3. Who swore to never marry? Tar Ancalime 4. Who was the bearer of Narya, Vilya, and Nenya?(during the war of the Ring) Gandalf, Elrond, and Galadriel 5. If Tolkien hinted anything(which he did) where were the entwifes? The Shire 6. Who threw an apple at Bill Ferney and who kicked him? Sam threw the apple and Bill kicked him..? 7. Who commanded the Barrow wights? The Witch King...? 8. Who created the Dwarves? Aule 9. Which mortal bore the Silmaril right before Dior did? Luthien, she became mortal 10. Name three of the Istari's names in Valinor Curunir (Saruman) Alatar (Radagast) Olorin (Gandalf) |
Lothiriel Silmarien
Alatar and Radagast are two different wizards. Radagast's name in Valinor was Aiwendil. No one has gotten #1 right so far (that I've seen). Lenwë (Nandor), Finwë (Noldor), Ingwë (Vanyar), and Elwë (Sindar). Olwë, which many of you answered, was not a leader until his brother, Elwë, died. |
Oops, sorry. I was on the right track though. Alatar is one Istari. I just checked the answers for #1, and got all the names, but whn I scrolled down to hit reply, I saw that you had put the answer to #1! Oh well. Does anybody know if I got the rest right? Maybe I can pass with a 90%!
|
I wanna know about #7 though, I was actually gonna put Tom Bombadil. He got the Barrow-wights to leave Frodo and the rest, but I am confused altogether about the Barrow-wights, so oh well for me!
|
Tom Bombadil had the power to overcome them, but he certainly didn't set the Barrow-wights after Frodo and the Hobbits; that fact makes Bombadil not their commander.
The Witch-king of Angmar probably commanded the Barrow-wights, since he was the one who sent them to the Barrow-downs in the first place, during the wars with Arnor. Of course, it could also be possible that the Barrow-wights commanded themselves. Angmar did vanish from the world, and they were evil spirits, and by definition, evil usually involves doing harm and creating chaos. But I think that theory is delving too deep and getting too far-fetched. There's just my logical, deductive two-cents on the matter. (Sorry, once I get thinking, I grab the topic and run.) |
The leaders were Finwe (noldor) Ingwe(Vanyar) Olwe and Elwe (Teleri)
Galadriel I think it was nimrodel Gandalf, Elrond, and Galadriel I think somewhere close to the shire on the account of samwise's cousin's description Sam threw the apple and bill the pony kicked him The Witch King? Aule Thingol was last i think but he was immortal, so beren then Curumo, olorin, pallando |
I wonder who commands our BW?

these are the answers to the Quiz.
<font color="green"> 1.) Ingwe ruled the Vanyar. Finwe ruled the Noldor. Elwe and Olwe ruled the Teleri cause they were too numerous for one to rule and elwe never died until, well, he was Thingol. Haven't you ever heard the name/title king Elwe Thingol? <font color="gold"> 2.) Galadriel Refused to give Feanor a lock of her hair cause she basically disliked him from the beginning. <font color="blue"> 3.) I didn't know Ancalime swore never to marry but she DID marry. Finrod Fealegund swore never to marry and NEVER did marry. This is found in the Silmarilion at the very end of the chapter, Of the Noldor in Beleriand. <font color="purple"> 4.) Gandalf bore Narya, Elrond bore Vilya, and Galadriel bore Nenya. Five was already answered. <font color="red"> 6.) Sam hit Ferney in the face and Bill the Poney got revenge in the end of ROTK by kicking him. <font color="Silver"> 7.) The Lord of the Nazgul Commanded the Barrow wight to Haunght the Barrows so their commander was The Lord of the Nazgul. <font color="orange"> 8.)Aule created them, Illuvitar found out, but since they were not like puppets subject to Aule Illuvitar let them live. Thanks to him we have Gimli Son of Gloin on the BARROWDOWNS. <font color="light blue"> 9.) Luthian did. It says that the silmarl was brought to Dior from Luthian (after she died) who bore it and the sons of Feanor refused to take it from such a "heavenly" being. <font color="light green"> 10) Gandalf was Olorin, Saruman was Curumo, Radagast was Aiwendil, and the others were Palando and Alatar. that was a mouthful. |
