It was actually quite small. The elves reffered to the language of the Valar,"like the glitter of swords", they didnt really like it. [img]smilies/cool.gif[/img]

I was under the impression that at least Quenya was made under the influence of the Powers. I guess I don't know why though...

That's right, Nefwathiel Teleri. The effect of Valarin on the development of Quenya was minimal. The Vanyar took some loan-words from the Valar, but otherwise the Elven-languages were all developed by the Elves.
