You know what to do...

Quote:

"True, alas, is our guess. This is not one of the Ulairi as may have long supposed. It i Sauron himself who has taken shape again and now grows aspaceand he is gathering again all the Rings to his land; and he seeks ever for news of the One, and the heirs of Isildur, if they live still on earth."

Lindolirian 05-08-2002 02:29 PM

Gandalf perhaps?

Ulairi 05-08-2002 05:17 PM

The eldest son of Isildur, Elendur at the Gladden Fields as orcs approached.

Quote:

So perished Elendur, who should afterwards have been King, and as all foretold who knew him, in his strength and wisdom, and his majesty without pride, one of the greatest, the fairest of the seed of Elendil, most like to his grandsire.

Lindolirian 05-12-2002 06:26 PM

Lindolirian 05-28-2002 05:36 PM

I'll give you a hint: its from the First Age.

Melkor to Hurin after the Nirnaeth

Quote:

"Beyond the Circles of the World I will not pursue them," said Morgoth. "For beyond the Circles of the World there is Nothing. But within them they shall not escape me, until they enter into Nothing."
"You lie," said Húrin.
"You shall see and you shall confess that I do not lie," said Morgoth. And taking Húrin back to Angband he set him in a chair of stone upon a high place of Thangorodrim, from which he could see afar the land of Hithlum in the west and the lands of Beleriand in the south. There he was bound by the power of Morgoth; and Morgoth standing beside him cursed him again and set his power upon him, so that he could not move from that place, nor die, until Morgoth should release him.

"I am too fat for such fly-walks,"

Mat_Heathertoes 06-19-2002 02:59 PM

That would be old Bomburs refusal to be hauled up the side of Erebor a while before Smaug came forth.

zifnab 06-20-2002 02:29 PM

Yepers, Mat. It's all yours.

I suppose that is a Dwarf, and given the lack of Dwarves in FOTR and the rest of the books, it's gotta be from The Hobbit. Balin, perhaps?

Lothiriel Silmarien 07-18-2002 08:45 PM

I'm bringin' this one back from the dead! Or barrow, or..oh whatever
And no one's posted in a while, so don't mind if I do!

Boffer 07-27-2002 04:48 PM

High Duke, someone else noticed I was gone too! Sorry, I was away on vacation for a week. And then when I came back my aol wasn't working! It was TORTURE for me! Coming home, having been gone a week, and then I can't get online! Well, I was on for like a half hour when I came home, but then aol stopped working, and we had to re-install it. But it's working now, thank god!

Ok, was that quote, po-ta-toes the next quote or was that just for a signature? Anyway, if it was the next quote, that was Sam! Right?

Boffer 07-29-2002 01:41 PM
